Where Wonder Woman is sitting in a tavern in the godsforsaken frozen wilderness, looking dead sinister and waiting for Beowulf, and she's just given the last kiss of mercy to a pack of rabid wolves.

I thought, it just doesn't get any better than this. Hello, Real Diana -- I always knew you'd show up in the end.

But now that Bluefall's wonderful series of critiques has caught me up, the scene where Diana took out Medousa on TV is just about impossible to beat.

Wonder Woman vs. Amazo in JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #24, by Dwayne McDuffie.

Diana, mostly all by her lonesome, has to take on a fully-powered Amazo when the rest of the JLA is taken out. I like this battle because Diana uses all of her abilities (strength, speed, stamina, strategy, weaponry) to fight Amazo nearly to a stand-still.

Well there are lots of them but here are the first few that come to mind.

When she blinds herself while fighting Medousa. And then decapitates her. Perfect.

Snapping Max Lord's neck. Because she did what needed to be done.

I know a lot of people hated it, but I really liked her axing Ares in #33.

And just because it's him and he needs humbling sometimes, when she punches Batman out the window in The Hiketeia.

Top 3:

Wonder Woman, 2nd Series, issue 5 when Diana decapitates Diemos to save her own life and get the second half of Harmonia's Amulet. This ain't your Daddy's Wonder Woman!

I also thought the beheading of Medousa was phenomally well-done during Rucka's run--a great sense of courage in the face of danger. The story was well-paced and although I had an idea how she would meet her end, I never would've considered the technique.

And finally, without doubt, during Gail's run when D'Grth is run through with the Invisible Jet! YIKES! Clear the runway! Place your trays in an up-right position and hang on to your peanuts!

Also from Rucka:
--blinding herself to beat Medousa
--slicing Superman's throat with the tiara
--snapping Max's neck to save her own life and that of every metahuman on the planet

The fight with the ladies from JLU was also badass.

I'm going to mention a moment that probably doesn't seem badass to most but to me is precisely what makes Wonder Woman badass. It's the scene from the Ichor story where WW allows the Green Lantern to punch her around a little bit. Then, she offers him her hand. That scene was amazing because it really encapsulated what she's about. Allowing one of the most powerful creatures in the universe to beat you down just to show him a better way is definitely badass. I haven't enjoyed your run as much as I'd like, Gail, but that single scene manages to be one of my favorites anyway.

JLA New World Order...when the Alien says "Where are your friends now?" and they show a BEAUTIFUL Diana in the snow saying "Where we always are...Right here!"
Also in JLA when Diana boards the angel ship and Zauriel sayd "Angels...meet Diana!"

Abolutely agree. Also a fan of when she faces down Darkseid in Rock of Ages. But my favorite is in JLA 6+7 when she beats the tar out of angels. As RK said. "Angels...meet Diana" and "It won't fall. Hera, it won't fall."
I also like Zauriel's line about paying to watch her back, but...
