Default CBR: Van Lente Talks "Deadpool Team-Up"

It's all about bonding and booze when Deadpool and Hercules, two of the Marvel U's most irresponsible heroes, join forces in the debut issue of "Deadpool Team-Up." CBR News spoke with writer Fred Van Lente about the new ongoing.

Man, I'm excited about an ongoing Deadpool series that's worth buying.

Kinda sad that Van Lente isn't the permanent writer, but if the rotation will include Joe Kelly then it's A-Okay.

Me excited. Deadpool's the perfect character to do a team-up book. Seeing how the different heroes (and villains?) react to him will be constnantly fun. He has very little in the way of respect from the hero community so this will be a great time. And jsut the hilarity of some possible team-ups is amazing to think about. I'd love to see him and Thing in one issue. I think he's one of the few that kinda respects him a bit.

I didn't know it'd be rotating creative teams though. That worries me a bit but I'm sure there will be much more hits than misses.

    I want a Van Lente-written Deadpool/She-Hulk team-up.

    Oooh Shulkie would be great.

    Ant-Man would also be amazing.

I'm getting this book it sounds great I jus thope the other writers who come on after Van Lente are as good as he is. I'm not much of a fan of the writing in Deadpool and Merc With a Mouth.

This kind of team up book will actually work better than the Thing and Spider-Man ones.

But this also might define overkill for the Merc With a Mouth.

I think it's awesome! You can just pick whichever DP book is well written at the time and ignore the others.

I think two was fine and this really should be the second I mean whats the whole point of Merc with a Mouth. I can understand if theres a gimmick the other monthly doesn't do but there isn't. No I dont count it doesn't whore itself to event Tie-Ins as being diffrent from the other book.

Any chance of Fabian Nicieza and Patrick Zircher doing an issue down the line, perhaps co-starring Cable? I know, I'm shameless.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.

Yup; especially if Joe Kelly is one of the rotating creators!

(If I were Victor Gischler (who's on Merc With A Mouth), I'd be kicking it into overdrive!)

Wow, I thought this was just a one shot, didn't realize Deadpool Teamup was going to be an ongoing thing. I also thought Merc With A Mouth was just a miniseries...hah, I thought I was a Deadpool fan, but I seem to be pretty out of the loop.

I really don't think 3 Deadpool series, or even 2 is a very good idea. It seems like Marvel is starting to go the Wolverine route, and milk this character dry.

On a side note, why can't one of these Deadpool series be under the MAX line? That would actually be pretty awesome.

i wonder if all of these series will impact Deadpool negatively; like they did Eddie Brock.
