Might as well talk about it.
Do you guys like it, hate it, hate to like it, what? :)

Black Canary owns your world.
I don't like it. She's the avatar of TRUTH. Kurt Busiek's writing of it as a private identity - something she does to get a better view of the world in a way she can't as Wonder Woman -, that's cool, but giving Diana secret identity is absolutely silly. Besides, the reason why she has it is simply ridiculous.
I grew up loving Diana Prince; I'm just afraid it no longer works for this version of WW.
Heck I always wanted a follow up story on what ever happened to the girl she bought her ID from.
With the re-boot(s) it just seems tacked on as an afterthought, not an integral part of the character and her life.

Oh God, do I hate the secret idenity thing because the reason she has it because "she's not human enough" is just down right insulting to the character. She is capable of making mistakes and experiences the same emotions and frustrations we all have. She perfectly human. Worst of all, going from Themyscrican ambassdor of peace to a US government secret agent in a tight white jump suit is completly out of character for her.
HATED it very, very much, initially. But as time has passed, I've softened to the general concept of it, even though I still don't care for it's current incarnation. Most of my dislike comes from how poorly it was re-introduced. It made zero sense for the character. Her motivation for using it was out of character (She doesn't "know who she is"? PLEASE!), her choice of job was ridiculous, and she didn't even have much control over what was happening, since it seemed to all be laid out for her by Batman. The whole thing was sloppy, and did the character no services. It's the worst kind of thoughtless fanboy nostalgia. It still hasn't been satisfactorily rationalized, IMO.
Now, if the secret identity disappeared next issue, I wouldn't miss it at all. But it's probably going to stick around for a while, so the best I can hope for is that you'll find a way to make it work. I will say, though, that even though a "private identity" can work for Wonder Woman, I don't think it's necessary for her to have a job as "Diana Prince." Being a superhero AND an ambassador of her people AND having another career in addition to all that is just overkill, and makes it seem like the-powers-that-be have no idea what to do with her, and she ultimately seems totally directionless. It can function just as a way for her to go about ordinary daily activities like going grocery shopping or seeing a movie without drawing attention to herself, and enable her to get to know people who aren't mystified that they're talking to Wonder Woman. But whatever direction the secret identity thing goes, she certainly shouldn't be a secret agent for the American government.
I do and don't like the secret identity. I liked the idea that WW would use Diana Prince as a disguise, or even just a name in order to hold down a job... Seems to me it should be more of an open secret, instead of a secret id... (ie, people know and/or can find out, but it isn't widely known)
Don't see the point of her having an id. Not with this WW. However I think the id can be useful only if it is to get some down time, do something under cover for the JLA, or even complete a task. I mean people would still be in awe of WW. So if she wanted to say just shop for groceries or even go do some voluntary work without the paps or fans the id might be helpful. But she is NOT Diana Prince like Supes grew up as Clark Kent.
I don't see the point of having an id and this tall statuesque woman with a figure to die for wearing white fitted jumpsuits and just a pair of tinted glasses working with spies who can't tell from day one that she is WW. She should never have anything to do with the US military or covert ops
Diana should never hide who she really is on a permanent basis. It makes no sense for a woman who is honest to a fault.
It's fraud - as in dishonest and illegal.
I could go on, but, for now I'll just say that I agree with many of the points above, and thus find the open and honest Diana to be a much better version of the character.
Agree totally. LOVE Lynda Carter. Loved the tv show, mainly because of Lynda. I may have looked more kindly on it if the past 20 years of development hadn't been thrown out like so much garbage. DC seems in love with the Silver Age and buying back the demographic that supported that era. But what about the rest of us?
Surely Silver Age fans could be honored while not screwing over the rest of us? My money is just as good as the generation that came before me. Please, no jibes about inflation, you know what I mean.
As with most things that seem to drive hardcore Wonder Woman fans around the bend, I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

i don't like it I'm sorry. And she's powerless in it, which I honestly think is the silliest thing.
And what's with the Glee references? OMG. I haven't watched the latest episode yet.
