    Default Wonder Repeat

What’s going on with Wonder Woman repeating or copying storylines? I know, I know, everyone says "trust in Gail", but I'm confused why it feels like I've read or seen these stories before. Diana renounces her heritage, Diana renounces her gods, Diana misses her mom, Hippolyta returns, Hippolyta disappears, none of these are new or Earth shattering. The story line where she joins Nemesis (the poor man’s Steve Trevor) as a spy is reminiscent of the stories from the early 70's where Diana gives up her powers and always wears white. They were terrible stories. Then why destroy Donna and Diana's barely there relationship? Recently the cage fight storyline seemed straight from the Justice League Unlimited final season, an episode called Grudge Match. Instead of it being Diana and Dinah its Huntress & Black Canary then Wonder Woman comes in and puts the beat down on everyone. Wonder Woman has been one of my favorite characters since I was three and saw Linda Carter spin on to the screen. I know there are better ways to tell a story than repeating or copying story lines, Perez did it, Byrne came close, let's have 'em.

I can see what you're saying, but Perez and Byrne had their takes on Diana for better or worse. I am a huge Perez fan but his vision is his vision. I may gripe but the writer has ultimate say.

Putting that aside--- Wonder Woman post Infinite Crisis is essentially a reboot. That means brining back some classic elements of the character. Do I like it? There have been some parts I like and don't like. I love Diana and Dinah's banter. They sound genuinely like friends who've known eachother for years. I'll leave out the parts I don't like.

I don't think Wonder Woman needed a reboot. Its arguable the effect that has in luring new readers. But as far as they go I think this has been handled as well as could have hoped for, (especially since Heinberg and Picolut left, good riddance).
