Good gracious Sue, that's a bit lateral. You're a smart cookie (la Moo). I was thinking maybe it was them looking up at the logos but my internal Mr Logic argued that that wouldn't work as they were inside the comic . . . well, unless they were on the splash!

That wasn't actually hard to figure out at the time, provided one was reading SUPER FRIENDS. At the time, rounded corners on panels meant one of two things: Either you were reading a flashback sequence, or you were reading SUPER FRIENDS.

Today, even the flashback use has been pretty much dropped, and given the changes in storytelling, I can see why people wouldn't notice the panel borders the way they used to, but it wasn't that obscure at the time.

Yeah, that's what I figured - back then, any unusual panel configuration would've really stood out.

In mid-2006, I was approached by ex-DC editors Paul Kupperberg and Bob Greenberger, who were working as editors at Weekly World News, the late, lamented tabloid newspaper. One of their regular columns was "MISS ADVENTURE: The Gayest American Hero," written by "Dru Sullivan." it was meant to be a ribald gay punfest that would skirt the boundaries of taste, and hopefully bother all the right people among their readership, while amusing others.

Due to a set of circumstances, they needed a NEW "Dru Sullivan," and they asked amongst the staff who the best gay writer they could think of who might handle the column. Thankfully, I was chosen! I took over the series for several months, including telling a long drawn-out story involving the hero, Kevin Andrews, repeatedly being marooned on tropical islands, leading him to encounter the Gilligan's Island crew and Survivor, among others.

I wrote a four-part eight-page story, which I'll present here, two pages per day. it may not be immediately apparent, but it is VERY Wonder Woman related. Three quick notes before you read: there were certain "beats" I had to hit each segment, including recapping, sometimes with faulty memories; I always had to mention "friend and mentor Danny 'Dee Dee' Romano"; and I had to be truly tawdry without stepping over a line.

So, without further ado, enjoy this story:

Here's page three of the story, from the second week. Told you it would have some Wonder Woman connections...

I was a regular WWN reader up until its cancellation and Miss Adventure was always a hoot! No idea Mister Mangels was behind some of the stories!

When I heard they were going to do a complete series release for the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series, I was really hoping that DC&Warner Bros would have included the Denise Crosby Wonder Woman tv movies as well as the pilot from the 60's. I would have loved if they could have shown it to Ms. Carter and get her open, she always seems to a very good sense of humour about her role in the history of Wonder Woman and about herself in general and I would have loved to have heard her thoughts on privious two attempts to bring our favorite Amazon to the small screen before her famous version.

She has similar fashion sense to Lynda Carter's '70s era Diana.
