New details in what Democrats might seek to have passed in the final bill.

No decisions have been made, lawmakers said, but they laid out a new approach that could still include these provisions: limiting the ability of insurance companies to deny coverage to people with medical problems, allowing young adults to stay on their parents' policies, helping small businesses and low-income people pay premiums and changing Medicare to encourage payment for quality care instead of sheer volume of services.

Have you considered that Coakleydidn't seem to give a damned about what the voters thought,

That People in Mass. might not want to pay a bribe to Nebraska

That they thought the senatr bill was a big wet slobbery kiss to the insurance companies.

I'm actually working from a quote I saw someone from Massachusetts say concerning Brown's election and Healthcare Reform, on Huffington Post, and the posters who agreed with him or her.

"I got mine, so fuck everyone else."

Hasn't Nelson stated that he wants the bribe removed from the final bill though? Too much backlash, I'd guess.

And saying "big, wet, slobbery kiss" is being classy about it. I do not have such class.

I'm not quite ready to say that it's completely dead. Maybe we'll just get the sucky Senate version or maybe the Republicans will actually be willing to negotiate now that they can actually get some credit for doing so. If they actually voted for anything, they're just endorsing the Democrats, but now they can take credit for whatever is good in the bill. (They're already gotten some of what they were supposedly in favor of.)

Complete obstruction and bastardry has been an extraordinarily successful strategy for the Republicans so far, why switch now?

For any maintaining the delusion that the Senate will now pass a better Bill:
"I applaud the U.S. Senate for dropping the public option from their version of the health care bill, but I remain opposed to the legislation because it will undermine the progress we have made in Massachusetts with our own reforms. With 98 percent of our citizens covered, Massachusetts will essentially be subsidizing coverage expansions in other states through higher taxes and fees. This will cost Massachusetts jobs and make it harder on individuals and businesses that are struggling to make ends meet in the current recession."

Wow. He actually has said "we've got it, so we don't want to pay for anyone else having it".
    "We must fight on!"
"We'll die. We fight and we die, that's how it goes."
    "Then we die gloriously!"

If things keep up the way they have here in the U.S, there might just be a lot of us trying to say the same thing in the next few years.

This should be a federal program, but it doesn't have to be one. States can do much of this on their own

Obama should have copied FDR. Put people to work first-->supplying good paying jobs for Road and Bridge projects--Our infrastructure is dilapidated and could use the updating.

Then He could have pushed through a large social program easily.

That's what a lot of the stimulus package is doing.

The Democratic Party lacks the will to govern.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
