Default I will sound like a BAD person for saying this re: Joss Whedon

I never felt he was the right guy to bring us Wonder Woman. He did a great Job on Buffy but I do not think he would have done the same for Diana.
I am most definitely a WONDER WOMAN FAN!!

Agreed. I loved Buffy, but everything else has been just blah. I never thought he was right. Once I heard his ideas, my feelings were confirmed. If he made the movie it would have been basically Kitty Pryde/Buffy as WW.

You hit that right on the head.

In his interviews he didn't seem to know what he wanted to do with the character. He didn't know what power set he was going to give her. Whether she was going to Jump, Fly on her own or use the Invisible Jet.

That kind of bothered me a bit. As I kept reading I knew for a fact that he was wrong for the Job.

Glad that he is off of it though

    I also agree with you.

Buffy was great, but all of his comments about the project seemed to be saying, WW isn't any good but I will make her interesting by changing everything about her. I think he would have produced a terrible WW film.

I've enjoyed everything he's ever done that he had creative control over.

Not necessarily so much the stuff where he was a hired gun.

Left to his own discretion, I'm 90% sure he'd write a brilliant WW movie. But the chances the studio would leave him alone would be basically nil.

I wish the Joss WW had worked out. But he's much better (and happier, I think) as an auteur.

He wanted to do "Wonder Woman, the TV show I dimly remember: The Movie."

    No, Joss.

    No.

    What exactly were these ideas?

-younger, possibly teen version of Diana
-no flying, just hopping... yea, bc that looked so great when Lynda did it lol
-no star spangled panties, he didn't say what she would wear but he would remove the panties.
-he was creating his own enemy instead of following Perez's origin... or using any existed DC character

I don't think he was right for the job, but I also think he is VASTLY overrated, so maybe I'm biased.

I think he is overrated and wrong for the job too lol. Listen, I LOVED Buffy but nothing else he has done has come slightly close. Dollhouse was ok but after the 4th episode I was done (mostly bc I couldn't handle Eliza, her blank stare while puffing her lips when Echo's memories were taken away killed me). Even his X-Men run was overrated IMO.... either way, he was wrong for WW. Diana does not need to be recreated.

Well, every superhero has needed a teensy bit of recreating in order to work on screen, but I agree, his takes on teen Diana and the hopping really sounded like steps in the wrong direction.

Buffy was awesome. Angel was great. Firefly was fantastic. (Haven't seen Dollhouse or any of the Dr. Horrible stuff.) However, Astonishing X-Men was sort of meh and his stint on Runaways wasn't so good.

Get the people that did the animated movie to write the Wonder Woman live action movie. Just scrap the invisible jet.

They should def adapt the animated movie into a live action. Just ditch the jet, ditch the Ares/Hippolyte child, make Diana slightly less preachy about women's lib and fix Etta... perfect WW movie.

Didn't the animated feature have a very young Wonder Woman, who did not fly, and did not fight anything resembling comic book Ares?
