Default dc entertainment... what does this mean to wonder woman?

now that warner bros. reorganized and dc comics has become dc entertainment... how does this impact wonder woman? it was reported that they have recalled from joel silver the development of wonder woman... does this mean we won't see any wonder woman movie in the near future (in our lifetime, perhaps?)... it is rumored that robinov (who's on top of everyone else in the restructuring) doesn't like "women movies" (the kate beckinsale "whiteout" movie was not released). this doesn't bode well for our our amazing amazon.... *sigh*

Whiteout comes out in like three days, so I don't know what you mean by that.
What I do think will happen is that DC will be forced by Warner Brothers to make better decisions about what happens to there iconic characters in thier books and also more attention will be placed on getting movies on track and moving before Disney can slam us with an onslaught of comic based films.

Marvel has been releasing an onslaught of comic based films for years, if DC doesn't gets its act together soon we may have to sit by the sidelines while Marvel releases more and more character projects.

I think that if DC can release a Wonder Woman, Flash, and GL movie in a timely manner they will be in great shape.

gl is going ahead since it's past pre-production stage already. i fear that since flash and wonder woman were recalled, it's gonna be in development hell for the nth time! *sigh*

Guys, I think they mean Johns was attached to Flash's production because it was recalled back under WB. Roven didn't bring Johns in.

Diane Nelson (who has been in charge of overseeing the 'Harry Potter' franchise, and will now also be running DC Entertainment Inc.) was asked by Newsarama about whether fans can look forward to Superman and Wonder Woman movies.

She stated that both characters were "priorities," but that DCE would also be looking at other properties "equally."

So, as usual, nothing concrete about WW's feature film future, but at least we know she's still in the running.

Whiteout has been completed for two years now, and not released due to the executive decisions about female-based movies not selling.

And it's gotten terrible support from Warner's. I just went to the screening tonight, and even it was one of the worst-run screenings I've ever attended. It was as if even the PR company didn't care.

I live in Portland, also the home of Greg Rucka, Steve Lieber, and Oni Press, all of whom are credited on the film (of course). Do you think maybe Warner or the PR people MIGHT have been sniffing up some local press to PR it? Nope. Rucka didn't know about the screening until I told him (but he got to attend the LA premiere tonight), and not a single member of the press there tonight had been informed of the Portland connection.

Whiteout DEFINITELY got "dumped." I'm not saying that would happen with Wonder Woman, but the lack of support or release of female action films from Warner -- post-Catwoman -- is clear.
