Good hero gone bad. (and the converse for villains)

We could always use some fun.

Which hero should go "bad" and why? And not just one story-arc bad (a-la Martian Manhunter in JLA). We're talking full-on long-lasting EEVEL (a-la Hal Jordan Parallax). It could be retconned into possession, mind-control, etc., BUT in at least FIVE years.

Conversely, which villain should go good?

People who are "on the fence" (a-la Catwoman) are NOT allowed. Use people who are traditionally associated with good and evil.

MY ANSWER:

1) Aquaman. Let's say the Justice League "accidentally" destroyed Atlantis and Aquaman was so mad he vowed vengeance on the surface dwellers. I can see it. And besides, reading Blackest Night, he is so much better as a villain.

2) Tough one for villains. I'm gonna go with Ra's Al Ghul. His "goodness" is sort of like Lionel Luthor's from Smallville. Might be fun actually. Him "helping" Batman and all.

Marvel has been doing the "king of Atlantis skewed toward evil shaking his fist vociferously at land-lubbers" thing with Namor for many decades now. Taking Aquaman and doing this with him would be (a) unoriginal, and (b) tougher to take seriously than he already is.

Right. but we're not making him into an angsty anti-hero in the Namor sense.

We're turning him EEVEL. Like A-list villain threat.

And those who laughed at his powers will rue the day they made of him.

I've been playing around with the idea of Giganta going good and getting a job in Star Labs. This would work better with an actual Star Labs comic, and that would require DC having a writer who was interested in science rather than mad science.

(My general read of post-Crisis Giganta is that she went evil because she had a terminal disease and was desperate for some solution. Once she solved that problem, her motivation for being evil is that she can't go back to being the scientist she was and doesn't have anything else to do, so she hangs out with the one group that will work with her.)

Here you go, let's bring the "EEVEL" out if this guy for a few years, and see how that blows over.
And the motivation is totally believable as we've seen some Kyle fans snap in this same way.

I know this is about good heroes turning bad. But I wish they would reverse this affect on Frances Kane & Jericho.

I liked her brief affair with The Atom (Ryan Choi, loved his series while Simone was there). Could be good.

Going bad to good: One of Spider-Man's foes should reform, just so we can have lots of "why should we trust you" and Spider-Man doubting them and being all sanctimonious, and teaming up with Daredevil and/or Luke Cage. Course, most of his are too dim to be interesting. Maybe the Shocker? Or one of the Flash's Rogues? Hell, Wonder Man-not like he's doing much anyway and there's enough dark seeds there.

Going good to bad: Multiple Man (even though I like X-Factor too much). Iceman? A Legion member should go bad, or someone in the JSA. "The Terror of-Mr. America!"


On a completely unrelated note-why hasn't Luke Cage ever fought Tombstone? They'd seem to be natural enemies.
