    Default Mike Kaluta

...drew some of my all-time favorite Wonder Woman images. Not too many that I'm aware of. Anyone have a scan of any of them?

It this the guy that did Starstruck?

I'd give my eyeteeth to see Gail or G. Willow Wilson do an out-of-continuity WW mini with him.

Not that many that I'm aware of.

He only did one WW cover (v1 #297) and pin-up (v1 #300). He did one JLA cover (v1 #154) but it didn't have any women on it.

He redesigned Diana for the JLA: Riddle of the Beast Elseworlds project, but only drew her in character designs.

But here are images for you!

These are great, Andy, thank you!

    Wonderful!

Mike is one of my favorite artists ever. I adore that man's work. We had framed prints of his all over our apartment when we were too poor to afford decorations.

At one of my first conventions, The "Mighty-Mini-Con" in Herkimer, New York (the only truly lousy convention experience I've ever had, run by a well-known creep named Rick Olney, who cheated everyone there), the organizer was such an idiot that he hadn't arranged any way for us all to get to this teeny little pizza place where we were supposed to have dinner.

So this gentleman nicely offered to take us in his car. And we're talking, and my husband, ever the gentleman, introduces himself and the guy just says he's Mike, or Michael (can't remember). And suddenly I get this weird feeling, because i only remember one Michael on the guest list, and sure enough, when I ask, he says, "Why yes, I'm Michael Kaluta."

My brain popped. I had just started writing as a pro and here Michael Kaluta, without knowing who we were, gave us a ride in his car. It was like getting a lift from Elvis.

I sputtered out a couple words, I think, during the rest of the ride. I'm sure they made no sense at all. :)

Have you seen his stuff in Madame Xanadu recently? gorgeous stuff. Works wonderfully with Wagner.

That is absolutely awesome! I'm sure if I found out that I was getting a ride from Micheal Kaluta I would most likely dissolve into a gibbering pile of goo! His work is so beyond phenomenal there aren't words to describe it! I would love to see him do a cover for Wonder Woman (or more specifically work on a story with Hippolyta!)

Have you ever wanted to do a one shot with him? It'd look grand. :)

Seconded! His work on Xanadu is excellent. Great story too.

I hope this 911 is for real and not just on tv.
