Superhero comic books only become art to the extent that their banal, unrealistic fantasy and garish styles go too far and become interesting. Attempts to ground them in reality can only ruin them.

Nu'Bia, a Black counterpart to Wonder Woman. This version lived in Hades and Ahura Mazda was her lover, but murdered by Ahriman. She appeared on Earth looking for Ahriman and to retrieve the heart of Ahura Mazda. Now there's a political subtext to make you wince.

The Pre-Crisis version wasn't anywhere near as cringeworthy. And this one's appearance is actually a fairly interesting short story.

All these pics of the Wonder Woman I love are like a dagger going into my heart. I will always love and miss her even if I can't be around her right now.

I really like this one. It's one of the best renderings of the new suit and i'm loving how everyone is getting mad, but WW is amused and fascinated by Arrow (yeah, Hal isnt getting mad either). She's really cool and easy going in the JL book!
