That's one of the worst pieces I think I've seen by Cassady...looks really rushed. What happened to Namors head?

    Who are the two Torch's?

While I agree that's not one of Cassaday's better pieces, the torches are Jim Hammond and Toro.

We know, you'd much rather pick up back issues of Youngblood.

How the Hell can this be the same guy who drew "Astonishing X-Men"? Really? Did he break both of his hands?

Namor having a flat head is actually a fairly common depiction (Kirby drew it that way, for example).

I think you may be far too critical bro. I believe he was probably trying to pay homage the style of Kirby some how.

I'm no too found of the cover but John Cassaday remains to me the best Captain America artist i've ever seen outside of Kirby and Sal Buscema. His short 6 issue run he did a few years back part of the Marvel Knights Imprint was sublime.
Kurt Busiek Says:"Best Avengers Run, Steve Englehart's run in the 1970s. With Roy Thomas's run that preceded it close behind, and the Conway/Shooter/Michelinie run that followed close behind that

Too bad the writing wasn't. Glad he got great books like Plantery and Astonshing X-men to be proud of though.

And I agree, I think Cassaday was going for an older, classical style head. Big Jack Kirby Namor head and all.

Yea writing sucked on the MK Cap book. But I was so blown away by his take on Cap. It made the character also more real.

The only drawback has been that every other Marvel artists since has tried drawing Cap like Cassaday with the same outfit that Cassaday designed. It was cool for that run but I would hope they would return to the Kirby/Buscema 60s/70s look.
