It sounds like Dove is going to be a major player. Being a big fan of the Kesel's H&D, I might have to pick this up.
Here's hoping that this is the last hurrah for Terra. If there ever was a Titan who deserves to stay dead, its her.
I actually think they should go the other way and just bring her back for good. It's pretty clear that there are still a lot of good stories about her as she keeps showing up even though she's been dead for how long....Here's hoping that this is the last hurrah for Terra. If there ever was a Titan who deserves to stay dead, its her.
I'm too lazy to read the article: Is there an explanation of what the hell they were thinking when they designed that cover?
Funny, to me it's a sign that there are a lot of sad fanboys out there who haven't gotten over a character who was killed twenty-five years ago, and in any case was a one-dimensional psychopath.
"If you can't say anything good about someone, sit right here by me." - Alice Roosevelt Longworth, on manners
"It's not whether you win or lose, it's whether I win or lose." - Peter David, on life
Well, that too. But in this case, the fanboys have become today's writers....Funny, to me it's a sign that there are a lot of sad fanboys out there who haven't gotten over a character who was killed twenty-five years ago, and in any case was a one-dimensional psychopath.
The big news from this one is that the Black Lantern rings are INDEED powerless against a soul being "at peace," even being programmed to admit as such.
Hawk & Dove get some good coverage here. Garth too, in regards to his still-existant feeling regarding Terra.
The insanely creepy foreshadowing of Donna's BL experience is very lightly touched upon.![]()
And yes......we get a nice Ed Benes butt shot of Starfire too.![]()
Damn i can't resist that Ed Benes art! He is Drawing STARFIRE I'm buying it twice! DAMN!!!! i have been sucked into the blackest night.
Well, the fact that we have a new Terra who is in a monthly book says to me that they won't be bringing her back.
And to be honest, I never cared for Terra the First. I loved her in the cartoon, and when I finally read the Judas Contract, I thought she was bland and very generic.
Anywhoo, I liked the first issue, but I was hoping to see more of the TEEN Titans.
To me, Judas Contract only works as well as it does if Terra remains an evil psychopath who dies irredeemable. Redeem Terra (like they tried to do by creating Terra II) or bring her back from the dead, and the entire story collapses and becomes moot. The ONLY way I can see bringing her back MIGHT work is if they did so to make her a villian. But even then, I think it would do sever damage to an otherwise classic story.
Bringing her back from the dead is to be expected in this story. But I really do think it should be for no other purpose than to give those closest to her - in this case, Beast Boy and Geo Force - the dramatic push needed for them to get on with their lives and to put her behind them.
I love Black Lantern Hawk. BL Lilith and BL Terra were great too, but BL Hawk was almost just dripping evil.
Now if they put this much effort into the monthly Teen Titans/Titans title, it would be a hit.
I always loved garth as Tempest, cool costume, cool powers, he found happiness and closure with Dolphin, so I was quite shocked when I read of their demise in Titans # 15.
Still, Garth accepting the throne of Atlantis worked for me, but then he dies....
It's sad, that DC sometimes trats their best characters the worst.
I let Terra go a long time ago. I liked that Terra II was actually Terra I, but once she was killed by Black Adam, that was it for me.
Terra III just doesn't interest me. But the first issue of her mini and decided not to get the rest.
I woudn't mind seeing Hank Hall return. He got a shitty deal in that stupid Armageddon mini-series. Hey, if Hal Jordan can be redeemed...
The Titans's franchise is a sad state-of-affairs -- and Dan DiDio being EIC hasn't helped. Maybe this mini can lead the way to better days for the once fan fave team(s).
