    Default Starjammers - Done For?

I was wondering, with Corsair's death - are the Starjammers effectively done for? I don't mean the rest of the members being dead - but isn't their relevance shrunk without that family connection to Cyclops and Havok. I know Havok has taken over for his father, but does that mean he's going to stay with the Starjammers for good, or will he eventually return to Earth?

Not to mention Raza was infected with an alien symbiote, and left for dead on a prison planet, miles underwater (and the prison was about to be flooded).

Bringing Raza back would be a piece of cake for most writers plot wise.

I would like to see them more grounded to Earth but having the type of adventures that are extreme such as space travel, time travel, and add Cable in it.

He already showed up later, he didn't die. He is still infected with a symbiote though.

To answer the original question...the Starjammers, as of right now, still technically has nine members (Havok, Polaris, Marvel Girl, Korvis, Ch'od, Cr+eee, Sikorsky, and Waldo)...and five if you don't count the ones who aren't the "main" cast, and there are currently no signs the X-Men will be returning to Earth anytime soon.

I think Havok is doing a great job taking over for his father. I see them returning to Earth, realizing that things are a mess with the mutant community (like Nova did when he came back to Earth) and that Cyke and Emma don't necessarily need them and then choosing to go back out into space where they can make a real difference. They pick up Hepzibah, who's been twiddling her thumbs, and head back out into space.

They help Kallark as he's now trying to run the empire, they also have missions (like figuring out what happened to the Phoenix when it left Rachel and Korvus) and so on. They can even become unofficial S.W.O.R.D. agents and do missions for Agent Brand as well.

Can you imagine? "We were just out here to see to that Vulcan got taken down and help with the empire's reconstruction. Oh, you're doing reconstruction now, you say? ...Can we take a rain check?"

I actually could see them slotting into SWORD fairly well, but really I'd like to see that book establish itself first... maybe in it's second year or something. The Lorna and Brand face to face could be fun.

At any rate, I'd put money on getting a 3rd Yost mini sooner or later. He loves too much not to.

I'm frankly puzzled by the lack of a Starjammers ongoing, considering EV and KB both handily outsold all the cosmic monthlies. I'm guess DnA aren't interested, but I'm sure there are other writers who are...

Yeah that was the funniest thing of WoK, the last issue had Havok basically telling the Shi'ar, "Screw you guys, I'm going home."

I thought all they wanted was to take out Vulcan... which was their responsiblity because they unleashed him (sort of) in the first place. Other than that, I don't see why Havok and the others would help withe the reconstruction of the Shi'ar Empire.

I see them coming home. Probably not until after Dark Reign and even the 3rd part of the Messiah Trilogy.

Yost needs to write it though. He had a good take on them. He can wrap up the loose ends from Kingbreaker (Raza, PF disappearing).

I didn't interpret that scene that way.
