Default Just Saw GI Joe.... **SPOILERS**

    ...surprisingly, it wasn't shit.
It has a paper thin story, and a few actors (Dennis Quaid and surprisingly Joseph Gordon Levitt) take gross overacting to new heights, but it was an overall fun movie.

I'm not all that familiar with the source material, so maybe I'm not being as nitpicky as the hardcore fans will.

Some of the CGI looked a little hokey, but there was some great special effects and some wonderful fight scenes (Ray Park is masterful). There are also a few pretty funny scenes. It's a little juvenile, but everyone in the theater from my 12 year old brother to some 40 somethings in the back were laughing and cheering throughout the movie.

I honestly don't get why all the fanboys are screaming bloody murder every time they see a new trailer.

I just got back from it.

it was entetaining. but a lot of it was off.

Cobra Comander's "reveal" would had actualy had some impact if he would have worn one of the 2 mask he's supossed to have.
    insted of some transparent mask...

On a scale of 9.5 to 10, how hot is Rachel Nichols?

    That's all I care about.

I only care about one thing, Baroness, if I like Baroness will I like this film?

Oghren: "Huh. You got small breasts for a gal."
Zevran: "Ah. This is where we begin the typical dwarven/elven rivalry, is it?"

She's played by Sienna Miller, right?

How could you not love Sienna Miller?

Because I see nothing to really distinguish her from most of the other hot actresses that take turns starring in random summer movies and posing in Maxim/FHM/etc. Nothing wrong with any of that, mind you, but I don't even know who Sienna Miller is.

I really liked it. I actually liked how they handled cobra commander (loved that his first mask had a built in monocle). And some of the origin changes to some of the characters didn't bug me at all (the cold war is gone why so why would the Baroness have to be eastern european). Anyway my major gripes were that in the end finding out the baroness hadn't really turned bad but was controlled by those nano things. Marlon Waynes bugged me until he stopped doing the whole comic relief thing and just became another character. I was bugged that once again like in the original cartoon they snubbed the whole Scarlet/Snake Eyes relationship. But then again would a hollywood movie really have a hot chick fall for the mute guy? Some of the self refrences seemed a bit out of place (I mean I love they refrenced both Learning is Half the Battle and Kung Fu grip but in the scenes that they put them in just seemed forced). What did work was the one instance of Yo Joe. It actually fit in that scene. The mouth on Snake Eyes mask was a bit distracting but he was still badass (one of the most important things to me since Snake Eyes is my favorite Joe). Overrall I'd give it a four out of five. I'm definitely glad they got Larry Hama on as a consultant. It was pretty much his word that he liked it that made me want to see this movie.

Also if you don't know who Sienna Miller is a British actress who has been in a bunch of indie films and she used to be with Jude Law (I think they even had some kids together). I've also heard she can be difficult at times.

Siena Miller had a relationship with Jude Law before Jude stepped out with their nanny. She's probably best known for films such as the shitty remake of Alfie and Factory Girl.

I'm really glad I turned around on this movie a few weeks back, when the usually pouty reviewers started professing their great enjoyment of this movie, and my "old younger self" started coming around and reminding me that I love GI JOE and I'm gonna get to see a GI JOE movie soon......because, otherwise this woulda been my review.

It wasn't perfect, but I don't think it could've been and still been a sh*tload of fun. What we got was great and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Lots of little things to appease the hardcore fans, the vastly jarring changes were more interesting because they were so radical.

And I must say, I was surprised as to how straight Damon Wayans managed to play it. He was still the comic relief, but he was far more subdued than he was in crap like Little Man or White Chicks.

Yeah once they got to the Joe Base was when he started to get subtle and the only time that it got back to as bad as I thought it was earlier was when he falls out of the van but then I laughed cuz he got hit by that car so it kinda evened out. Plus I want to say something I forgot which was how much of a pleasant suprise it was to see Johnathan Pryce in the movie as the president. I mean I love his work with Terry Gilliam and his performance in Something Wicked This Way comes and I loved him just being in it. Also forgot another thing that bugged me was Zartan being too generic in the begining before he got his mimic powers. I mean they could have at least put him in a biker jacket or something.
