...surprisingly, it wasn't shit.
It has a paper thin story, and a few actors (Dennis Quaid and surprisingly Joseph Gordon Levitt) take gross overacting to new heights, but it was an overall fun movie.
I'm not all that familiar with the source material, so maybe I'm not being as nitpicky as the hardcore fans will.
Some of the CGI looked a little hokey, but there was some great special effects and some wonderful fight scenes (Ray Park is masterful). There are also a few pretty funny scenes. It's a little juvenile, but everyone in the theater from my 12 year old brother to some 40 somethings in the back were laughing and cheering throughout the movie.
I honestly don't get why all the fanboys are screaming bloody murder every time they see a new trailer.
