Default CBR: Image Solicitations, October 2009

Image has released cover art and solicitation information for new comics on sale in October including "Haunt" #1 by Todd McFarlane and Robert Kirkman with Ryan Ottley & Greg Capullo.

Finally... HAUNT! Lots of covers for it, too. I'll probably definitely want all of them but I'm sure they'll cost a pretty penny. Looking forward to the next Atom Eve mini-series, as well. The Image United back-up stories in Savage Dragon, Spawn and Invincible, are those all different stories or the same one repeated three times over again? Cowboy Ninja Viking looks pretty cool, too. What do they mean by "Golden Age format"? Is it going to be larger than regular comics? Looks like a good month for Image!

Rad. College starting up again means drastic pull list cuts, so it'll probably end up being just Spawn. And Haunt, of course.

The art for Cowboy Ninja Viking looks like garbage. Too many unnecessary lines. It looks like a puddle of mud.

No Astounding Wolf-Man? There goes Kirkman's promise.

Looks like MacFarlane made a deal with Gaiman as Redeemer has returned. Maybe he got the characters back in return for letting Marvelman alone.

Not really. If I recall I think the plan was that any book that was solicited will come out the month it was supposed to.

Neil Gaiman didn't create him. He first appeared in during the three issue Grant Morrison run of Spawn (as Anti Spawn).

It's a four part story by Kirkman and Whilce. I'm guessing it'll introduce that Fortress character.

If it's four parts, what book does the fourth part take place in? Witchblade? It must be since there's only three books with the back-story in these solicitations which do not include the Top Cow books (which would include Witchblade).

I think Brikhead posted the order in the Image United thread but I think it's

    Savage Dragon part 1
Witchblade part 2 (as confirmed by Erik Larsen on the Image board).
    Invincible part 3
    Spawn part 4

Think I will try about HAUNT. Sounds cool.

They could have just sold those four parts as an issue 0....

Then it would be only 16 pages. They would have to put extra shit in the back and people would complain they're not getting enough bang for their buck.

I'm sure it will be released in some other form. But I read three of those books anyway so it's not a huge deal to me. I don't think it's necessary reading to understand Image United.

Sorry to hear somebody not eager to see Cowboy Ninja Viking (click for book's blog) I am so psyched about that book. I am pissed about Haunt having 6 covers and one of them being less than 500 made (it is pre-selling for $250).

The order for the prelude to Image United is:

    Part One: Savage Dragon #153
    Part Two: Invincible #67
    Part Four: Witchblade #131
    Part Four: Spawn #197

    *Sigh*

I suppose that, despite the fact that I have the digest, I'm gonna have to get King City in individual issues too. It would be 20-some bucks worth of awesome just to see it bigger.

Haunt: Finally we have the answer to the age old question, "What would the bastard love-child of Spider-Man and Spawn look like?"
