So where does this leave the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal manga put out by Tokyo Pop? Does it mean those particular stories are no longer valid / canon / relevant?
No, while their presence was rather subdued at SDCC, Return to Labyrinth and Legends of The Dark Crystal will continue and they are most certainly part of the canon. While I'm not sure if the Jim Henson Company intends to publish any additional volumes of Labyrinth or Dark Crystal manga beyond the completion of the current story arcs, if they do, both the Tokyopop manga and the Archaia graphic novels will exist in the same continuity.
That reminds me to order those manga.
I keep forgeting to add it onto my latest online order.
