Wow. Jean Grey instead of Emma Frost. Who's brain infarction was that choice? What is it about these damn game developers or corporate suits that they ignore Emma Frost in game release after game release?

Jean Grey wasn't even in Civil-f-ing-War.

And, "Gambit", what moron thought that would be a GREAT IDEA?

The only explanation is that Gambit and Jean Grey were really easy to implement. The lazy jerks at the development house probably even cut-and-paste legacy code from the previous video games.

To think that I was actually concerned that they weren't developing it for the PC and I would either have to get a PS3 or miss out on the "fun".

Like the Marvel Universe comics, this game is CHEEEAAAPPP (In quality, not in actual cost).

Meh. I'm cool with the choices. Especially Gambit. Gambits a fan favorite, so putting him in will please a lot more people that it pisses off.

Yeah I'm still stratching my head over the choice of Jean Grey into the game, I mean why would she get involved in all of this ?

I agree. What was so cool about this game was that it was following the story arc. It is awesome that the Thunderbolts are playable. But Jean has been dead for 6 years and Gambit has been teamless wallpaper for awhile. Plus it is lazy. These are character that are both in XML and XML2. At least get some new blood in if you are not gonna follow with the actual story. Not to mention do we really need Hulk, Thing, and Juggernaut all in the same game? I wanted Emma but I thought we might have gotten some Cabal action too. Keep it current. But I should have figured it would have been more movie characters. The Thunderbolts got me too excited. Which is basically just Thunderbolts.

On the good new... its on PS2! I don't play video games that often and so I haven't updated yet. So now I can continue to delay.

The fact that there's a few characters who weren't around for civil war in the game is a plus. Its a video game, so they should take some liberties. I don't want it to play out exactly like the comics, because I've already read that. They have the important figures of that storyline in for the most part already in the game, and its not like the X-Men were all that involved anyway. So why not put a couple of fan favorites in there? As it stands they just took the X-Men team from last game and replaced Iceman and Colossus with Jean and Gambit.

Do you guys realize that this is NOT Civil War the video game? It's loosely following the overrated storyline, thankfully. The star of the game is the characters and the gameplay. The fist game got it right by presenting an "idealized" Marvel Universe that had a classic feel. Jean Grey is a far more historically important character than Emma Frost. I have no problems with this.

And, yes, we need the Hulk, the Thing and the Juggernaut because they are classic characters that many fans enjoy playing. Cable? Come on. This is not X-Men Legends 3.

I am aware that this story is not going to follow the CW storyline exactly. But it is still CW. This isn't a Jean Grey vs. Emma Frost issue either. Jean is historically more important to the X-Men, I'm not questioning that. But Emma is more important to the current universe and fan favorite, like Gambit. Since they included someone many of the Thunderbolts I had hoped they might be including a bit of Dark Reign Cabal team as well. Emma and Dr. Doom would have been great playable characters too. I wanted her in the game, but if she wasn't I would have rather had Moonstone or someone new and not Jean and Gambit. I liked Gambit. And I actually enjoyed playing as both of them in XML. And like you said this isn't XML3.

I'm not sure where Cable came from, but up until recently he was just as if not more important and historical as Deadpool. And if Juggernaut is classic favorite then Cable is too. I just think its a waste to have 3 characters that have the exact same powerskill. Hulk and Thing is underable they are iconic, but why through Juggernaut in their. Oh because he is left over from XML. Lazy.

Jean Grey was one of the most fan-requested characters (possibly, the most fan-requested character) according to the developers. They also wanted to use her. So, I don't see the problem. Gambit is a little more problematic since he really isn't a very "iconic" character.

I have no problem with the extra characters to the game. After all, it is a game, and doesn't need to follow the story, perfectly. What I do hate, is the lose of characters that WHERE in CW, that are gone completely, or just NPC characters.

i think there are 2 main reasons why emma frost was not included: 1) her powers aren't as flashy and dynamic as gambit or jean; and 2) most casual gamers don't know who she is. they are catering to the video game crowd, not the comic book community. the fact that neither jean nor gambit were involved in CW is irrelevant. otherwise they wouldn't have included the hulk or thor either. perhaps if the x-men had not stayed out of CW, they would have included relevant characters to the game and not fan favorites.

Actually, Emma frost was really fun to use in XML2. I liked how she could use her powers to effect the enemy to scare them away or control them and stuff like that. Emma would have been a cool addition to the game.
