    Default Ms. Marvel #42 *Spoilers*

This is by far the best book all around. Takeda is scary good. I would pay 4 bucks just for the art. I hope she stays on past War of the Marvels.

I'm still holding out hope that Karla is being maniplated by the MODOKS. Risking civilain life isn't Karla's style. She is too smart for that. I never got a sense that Karla let her emotions get the best of her.

Takeda did a great job with the fight between Karla and other Ms. Marvel.

I don't think the Sentry could kill Karla. She could just go intangible. Then hit him when his guard is down.

I knew that thing was a fake Carol. Something didn't feel right about the murdering off unarmed men. Something about the energy beings didn't feel right.

I like the cover too bad it didn't happen. I so wanted Karla to pound on the New Avengers. Also once again so close to Clint yet no time for friends/lovers to catch up.

I also really enjoyed this issue, it was better than anticipated. The art was full of energy and complemented the story line well. Reed has been building the tension for a knock down drag out battle between Karla and Carol and that's what we get. In the final few panels I thought we might be seeing Simon, instead it's somebody unexpected nursing a Corona, The plot thickens.

Well, the costumed Carol isn't necessarily a fake, she could just be a part of Carol, with the rest having somehow wound up living as the fake spy identity "Catherine". Looked like Catherine was just recovering her Ms. Marvel memories as she watched the fight on the news. Plenty of mysteries abound.

Though I still have some issues with Reeds writing (like his take on Karla), I nonetheless found this book suprisingly fun.

A super powered cat fight between 2 uber blondes definately does not suck.

Wasn't she posing as a waitress? I thought I saw a tray. Maybe my mind is imagining things.
Gabriel - “Tell me the truth… what are you going to feel when you put a bullet in one of those men, Nick?”
    Fury - “Recoil.”

I think its a table. If you look at the thickness of the surface the bottle is on you can tell. A tray would be thinner.

Does Carol have a history with alcoholism?

Most of the times when I read your posts all I see is "Karla should rule the universe, she can't be defeated, she is smart, perfect, uberpowerful and can take on the whole new avengers alone" mate NOT to say that I don't understand, I do the same thing with my Emma Frost posts. I love her so much I want her to be number 1 in everything

A really fun issue and I was 90% sure that she WAS actually Carol so it was a nice surprise to see the twist. Like I said before, bring Carol back and give Karla her own book, Karla is fun as moonstone but I'm so not a fan of her using the Ms Marvel costume.
If it has Johnny Depp in it...I'm gonna hate it... But if it has Helena Bonham Carter too...I can cope.

Aside from the art, which I absolutely LOVE (and I despise all things manga/anime), I was disappointed with this issue. Sure, the fight was flashy and fun and all, but again, Reed can't write Karla Sofen to save his life.

    - Not a single use of intangibility? Really? Not once?

    - Where's the psychological manipulation? Where's the goading of Carol to make some stupid, hot-headed mistake (Carol's prone to it, and Karla's GREAT at dishing it out)? And why are we getting Karla blithely risking civilian lives (she doesn't value them, but WOULD value maintaining her "heroic" cover) and spouting such pithy dialogue as "I am your God!"? Really, Karla?

    - She's standing five flippin' feet away from Clint and we can't even get a one-liner about their past together? Not one?

Ugh. So boring and predictable this issue was, even with the twist at the end. I couldn't even bring myself to care that it wasn't really Carol.

    .
Does Clint even know that's Karla? Does Karla know that Ronin is Clint? If the answer to both questions is "NO", then that's why there was no comment.
Visited NY and DC and saw Spider-Man Turn off the Dark.

Clint knows she's Karla, but she probably doesn't know Clint's Ronin.

Didn't Clint go on TV without his mask but in the Ronin costume? How could she not know?

And she didn't see Norman flip out because of Clint's actions? Or she isn't kept up to date on active Avengers teams who might pose a threat to her team?

There's really no good reason for her not to know
