I'm curious regarding whether or not you guys thought the changes to Dr Octopus in Amazing Spider-Man #600 were successful. What did you think and would you like to see more o the new Dr Octopus?

im honestly not sure what to think..... I found it a good upgrade... it made sense if you follow me.... but i also found myself jsut wanting the classic guy back....
Im going to say im ok with it but my mind isnt made up yet.... waiting to see what else they do with him.
I liked the changes, though I don't expect them to stick around for the long haul. Eventually he'll go back to his classic look (or, better still, his Armani look), I'm sure -- but this was interesting.
Observe, Orient, Decide, Act
I like the more creepy look. GIves him a sense of menace he hasn't often had.
What if they kill him off though, i now it wouldn't be forever but the man is dying. I would like to see Doc Ock do something both Heroic and Evil at the same time for his death to be awesome.
The visual look itself is alright. Not sure if it tops the class design, but it's suitably creepy. When it's written well though like in this issue, I think he's much more meancing now with the upgrades. Visually he's a lot scarier, not just a fat guy with metal arms.
Can he or can he not use his real arms and legs anymore? Or did he just tie them up because he embracing His Metal Arms?
I think Doc Ock is leading to become one with Technology
I like this new direction they've taken with Doc Ock. It's always good to try something new. They're not being untrue to the character, he's still as intelligent as ever, they've made him even more dangerous, and he's still fighting with his tentacles.
I don't expect this new design to be permanent. I think Ock will eventually find a way to cure himself. He cured Spidey when he was dying during the Clone Saga.
I have not been following Spider-Man lately, however when I heard that Doctor Octopus was returning I was curious of what they would do with him. Getting a look at his new look I cannot say that I am really impressed with this. It doesn't trump the white Armani suit that he use to wear.
The idea of Doc Ock dying and wanting to go out with one last hurrah is a pretty cliched trope in superhero comics, but at the same time, I admit it's an interesting direction to take him in and I can understand the approach the braintrust/webheads are taking with him. After all, since Doc Ock primarily uses his robotic tentacles anyway, they probably figured why not go to the extreme and have him completely dependent upon his tentacles but have his body completely useless. In other words, he's just like Stephen Hawking only insane. It's the appearance and design for this new look I can't stand. But at least we've been told it's temporary.

Love it or hate it, it's only a temporary look according to Romita Jr:
Link: http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=21918The artist enthused that getting the chance to play with a slightly tweaked version of long-standing villain Doctor Octopus also provided a challenge. "I was given the instructions to go creepier. It's not a permanent version of Doc Ock. It's a present version, but I don't have a problem with it because it's a good story idea. It's interesting.
Marvel likes to try and up the creepiness factor every once and a while. Upping the creepiness just reminds me of what they tried to do with his origin in 'Spider-Man Doctor Octopus: Year One'. I'll ignore this latest attempt of revision.
