Oops, thought I should mention -- Stjepan Sejic will be sketching for donations to Hero Initiative during our signing there. An immensely important cause:

    Ron,
I would love to read your thoughts concerning comic con and how it has evolved into the massive event it has become. I know from myself and others we experienced a lot of “displeasure” with the event this year and are questioning returning due to the massive amount of "non comic" people there pushing us comic guys and gals out of the way. Do you believe San Diego Comic Con will remain the future for the great comic book “get together” or are the times a’ changing?

    Thanks!

I don't really enjoy the con because it's work, and it's more work now with the overwhelming crowds, massive size, etc. It's not really about comics anymore ... but then again, it hasn't been about comics for 5 or 6 years now. I guess the size and notoriety of it are overall good things, in that it turns the spotlight on comic-related stuff, even if comics themselves are a lesser aspect.

If you want a real "comic" show, try Baltimore or Emerald City, or Heroes Con in Charlotte.

Thanks for the reply, Ron. I have been researching some other options for my next con adventure and your input has helped me decide what to try next. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to stop by and say hello (if you're there) which is something I wanted to do a couple of weeks ago but the sheer number of people in my way got the better of me.

By all means, come say hello. I'll definitely be in Baltimore in October, and very probably Emerald City in Seattle next spring.
