I think it was because he was being treated like crap at Marvel.

I wholeheartedly concur. His faces are ugly. His figure work can range from impressive to incredibly awkward. He also seems to have a lot of trouble with perspective. I think he did a pretty fair job on Rebirth but was very quickly outclassed by the Green Lantern artists who followed (Pacheco, Gleason, Reis, Mahnke). He was not the right choice for Flash Rebirth at all because he doesn't capture fast motion well. It's great that he has been successful and all, but I wouldn't say he is a top tier artist.

I don't believe there can ever be an Ethan Van Sciver interview without a mention of Cyberfrog.

I really want to know details....does anyone know what transpiried at marvel to make him feel he was treated badly? Besides this interview has he ever mentioned it?
I'm looking for an artist who'd like to work on a comic project with me, or at least some concept art. Let me know if you're interested.

I suggest you listen to his interview on The Half Hour Wasted Podcast, it's has some hillarious moments regarding him working with Morrison on new X-Men.
