There's even a rep from Marvel saying "This is Marvel doing the nineties again." Did they forget that's when a lot of people stopped buying comics? BECAUSE of the craptastic foil and hologram covers?

Wow. I never thought I'd see the same mistakes repeated.

Wow, that just sounds lame, foilogram.
First they end the UU with Ultimatum, then the $4 price tag for the new books, now they are gimmicking the hell out of the reboot with this. Looks like they want the new Ultimate Comics line to fail.
Plus, how many of these, foilograms, do you think Loebs stuff will get?

"This is Marvel doing the nineties right," explained David Gabriel, Marvel Comics Senior Vice President of Sales & Circulation. "We're taking two of the most popular cover treatments of all time--foil and holograms--to create an all new kind of cover, as a 'thank-you' to fans who've been demanding this kind of variant!

Wow, I've said almost nothing but kind words for Marvel for the past decade, but... foilgram?!? Are they really dredging up the 90s wholesale as a business practice? I thought the whole point of the Quesada administration was to get as far away as possible from the 90s...

That wasn't the reason why. Clearly you need to do some research.

It's a silly argument anyone. Nobody is forced to buy variant covers. And some people them.

    *smacks head*

The biggest "screw you" possible to an entire universe and it's fans. Raise the price, do mini series despite saying you would not and then try and do stuff from the decade you almost went bankrupt?

Can anyone make any sense of this?

How could Marvel do this to us!? Why would they ever make a variant cover for a line-wide relaunch!? Why does Marvel hate their fans so much??? This is worse than the Clone Saga, One More Day, and Jeph Loeb COMBINED!! I'm quitting comics!!

Or it's just a stupid foil cover that no one is obligated to buy. Let's all take a deep breath. Vote with your wallets.
