Still unanswered for me is this question: What the heck was the Red Skull's MOTIVE for shooting Steve with a time gun?
I remain amazed at how many people don't understand this. What was the whole point of the Skull's story from #14 on? He had no body. What was he trying to do in the final issues of "The Death of Captain America"? Finally get out of Lukin's head before he went insane. What did he say after the machine was destroyed? "I have nowhere to go."

Despite there being some GREAT time travel stories (Days of Future Past is still one of my all time faves), I've always had trouble wrapping my head around a lot of the concepts behind time travel.
Writers are constantly creating new rules and ignoring old ones... McDuffie's FF story being one of the worst examples of that off the top of my head. I know it's easy for writers and editors to say we should just ignore that stuff and enjoy the story... but marvel can't exactly fault readers for paying attention to the rules marvel stories themselves create.
So I do tend to cringe just a bit whenever writers introduce time travel. Brubaker has more than earned the benefit of the doubt, so the time travel itself won't turn me away from the book. But I'm just not a fan of it in general.
I'm curious as to where this places the Thor story at Steve's memorial. Was he 'dead'? Does Steve remember that meeting? Wouldn't Thor, posessing the Odinforce, be able to simply...correct the problem?
I'm excited for this story. Finally some intrigue and questions behind a plot that isn't even finished yet.
AH. Of course. Silly me. Hm... alright, now I'm onboard. Sort of. I still don't understand how zapping Steve through time is going to end up with him being a body for the Red Skull. But, makes much more sense. Guess I should go back and re-read the whole run at some point.
