I didn't mind either issue. Not great but not bad. At least everyone in Legacy was shown as very concerned so it made sense for Gambit this time. I don't mind if he cares, just wish he could interact with more characters in Legacy. I actually liked the Legacy story and Mimic. Astonishing was ok but only becasue of the fight. The story hasn't found itself yet and Kyle just isn't interesting.

It's annoying that their focusing on Kyle over most of the rest of the cast, the character that most probably didn't even know existed before this book. You'd think they'd start off the series focusing on the characters people give a crap about, i'd even prefer a Wolverine focus even though he appears in #282912 other titles. Obviously just a set up to the marriage, pretty much a waiting game untill we get that arc done.

Overall outside of Gambit, i didn't mind either book also, both had their moments but neither wowed me.

Well all i can say is Astonishing is doing good so far. I hope it keeps going like that but yeah you're right it's annoying that all this focus is on Kyle.

I was buying Astonishing bc I thought it would be Gambit focused and it is focused on however the one dude is I give two craps about. Another dropped book... I am done buying books in hopes my favorite characters get to shine. At least I get to see Gambit follow Rogue around like a sad puppy in Legacy. yay

Personally, I'd wait until the second arc before writing off Astonishing. As awesome as it would be to have Gambit at the forefront from the start, Liu is having to use the publicity of the wedding to launch her book. It's a combination of Marvel policy and editorial influence. She's proven that she's down for shining the spotlight on Remy, she just hasn't had the chance to yet.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't headline at least one arc in the next couple months.

I'll wait until the wedding is done then. Honestly, I have no interest in weddings in comic books. don't even like them in real life.

Liu has already said that Gambit is pretty much background for this arc.

When they first started this book they said look out for Northstar and Gambit especially in this book. I'd say the 2nd arc is were Gambit will be more in the forefront.

I was posting pics in the Romy thread and thought I'd pop on over here and mention how great a Dad Gambit was to the Romy kids. Ray especially took after Remy and hey, Gambit ages well!

That is true and looks like for the next Legacy Gambit is going toe to toe with Moon Knight

Don't know whether to be excited about that fight (or the one with Cap) or not.

Just wanted to say that I always thought it showed how great Claremont was when (in the little time he used them) he was able to inject personality into the Romy kids. Like, my fav, when we found out that Ray was a huge jazz fan like her dad, Remy and Oli was hot-tempered like his mom, Rogue.

Gambit should easily be able to take on Moon Knight, but I am concerned with Gage's fascination with C-list characters, that he will try to put Moon Knight over by having Gambit barely keeping up with him in a fight.

I could be wrong, but it should be a clean win for Gambit ( It's still a x-men book that I am buying right?).

He should win the Moon Night since he is going to get stomped by Cap. But really with how the Avengers have won every battle but one I wouldn't be shocked if Moon Knight won.
