The new Thomas Jane show premiered tonight on HBO. If you haven't heard of it, well it's basically about a man down on his luck and only has his well-endowment as a way to start getting his life back to where he wants it.
I thought it was pretty funny. Liked his interaction with his neighbor and his facial expressions during the sex scene with Tanya had me lawling.
Wish it wasn't only a half hour though. The fact that this episode was 45min. caught me off guard, didn't expect it or wanted it to end yet.
Anyways, what you guys think of it? Hit or miss?

I'll give it one more episode before I make up my mind. It's off to a good start, but it didn't really hook me the way I thought it would. Jane is great as Ray, though. You do feel pretty sad for him in regards to how crummy his life becomes.

I'm interested in seeing it, mainly because of the amazing Jane Adams. Thing is, if you're the guy starring in a show called Hung, especially on the channel that brought us Oz, you're going to have to prove it. All the advance word I heard was pretty tepid. That won't work, it's got to be bold and edgy.

It's good to see Jane Adams is getting a decent role. It was kind of depressing to see her do so many minor parts (in a lot of bad movies too) over the last few years.

It did something I thought was not possible...made Tom Jane an actor that doesn't suck. I was instantly into the character...and it is all because of him. After years of Hollywood trying to make this guy a tough guy (he ain't) they gave him a part he was adept at for once. This show is gonna make or not based on him alone. If the first episode is an indication...it's gonna make it cause the guy gives the performance of his career. I hope this show goes over.
And, can't wait to see Bored to Death. That show looks special.We'd like to wish EZMOHR all the best in his future....ah forget it.

I have a hard time believing that he's gonna be able to support himself and his family as a gigolo with only female clients. I wonder if the show will ever address that.

Jane actually is a really solid actor. In recent years, the lure of star vehicles seems to have gone to his head. The man has enough swagger for a dozen John Wayne movies. If he can cut through the crap and get to the work, he'll be great again.
