Quesada's power to destroy every corner of the comic book universe is absolutely limitless. Wow. I guess Hellboy is next?

How the hell do you blame Quesada for this?

    Anyways...
    Been loving this series.
    Especially the Canete artwork.
Shame it has to end, but given the schedule it's probably best to put it on hiatus and bring it back with a more stable team.

It's cool that Remender received an exclusive from Marvel and all but it sure does suck that his superior indie books had to take a hit. Maybe he'll bring his titles over to the Icon imprint one day.

Hey I'm really glad I supported Remender's indie work so he could snag a Marvel deal and cancel the books I actually liked reading, thanks for that.

The End League story ends as it was planned. Nothing has changed. The story you get by the end of issue 9 is the story I wanted to tell. It's complete.

Fear Agent as well. By issue 32, when the book goes on hiatus, we hit the end of the first story I wrote when I did the series bible. As intended and if you ask me, 32 damn fine issues that were never compromised. Late, yes. But looking at the work Tony Moore, Jerome Opeņa and I did, I'd rather see the books as our best foot forward every issue than look back at perfect shipping.

Marvel gave me a clause to continue these books if I dsired to but the books were reaching their conclusion. It's not Marvel telling me to wrap these up. It is me. Marvel has simply allowed me to write the characters in their stable that I've always wanted to -- I couldn't be having more fun. If you like Fear Agent, you'll love what we're doing in Punisher. If you like Strange Girl, You'll love Doctor Voodoo.

I still have a new creator-owned series in the works. Last Days of American Crime will launch in October.

It's important people not misunderstand this stuff of take a cynical point of view about it. If you have a jones for my creator-owned books, there are over twenty trade paperbacks worth you can find on Amazon right now.

I'd recommend Night Mary or Black Heart Billy.

    Thanks for the support all,
    Rick

Can't say I like the recent art change, though.

Thanks for giving us this fun series. I can't say I'm a fan of Canete's art. (I really think the art of the early issues matched the tone better.) But I can say that I've enjoyed something about every issue.

I continue to look forward to your Marvel work.

I'm the exact opposite. The reason why I stuck with the book was because of Canete's art. The first couple of issues were hard for my to follow. I wasn't fan of the first artist on the series but I'm a pretty big fan of all of the Image stuff that Remender has written so I stuck with it. The addition of Canete as artist made this comic one of my faves. Its amazing how a strong artist can really help with the storytelling. I absolutely love Canete's style and the character design are awesome so that helps. I'm kind of bummed that he won't be drawing the last issue. Having three different artists over only 9 issues and one story arc is pretty annoying.

That being said, I won't be picking up any of Rick's Marvel stuff. I'm not much interested in the characters, I hate multi-title crossover events that span twenty different titles, and I don't want to keep up with the continuity of characters that were created by someone over 40 years ago.

The minute Rick is back on his own creations I will be right there to snap them up. I absolutely LOVE Strange Girl, Fear Agent, and the End League. I also enjoyed Gigantic, Sea of Red, and XXXombies. It's too bad that someone who is so prolific in creating great books with awesome original ideas is dropping it all to play with someone's old toys. I want something new! Screw Punisher, give me YOUR version!

Sorry I don't mean to sound jerky. I realize that many people dream about writing for Marvel and DC, and it's awesome that Marvel has seen you for the talent that you are--you deserve it. You probably will earn a hell of a lot more too, so I cant blame you. It just sucks that you are strictly working for Marvel now because I've really enjoyed your original stuff.

I don't really think that liking the creator owned books really translates into me liking the Marvel books. I haven't read the Punisher book and maybe I should, maybe Rick Remender can make me like the character where so many other great writers have failed. But that's probably not going to happen. I really have no desire to send much money Marvel's way unless its through the Icon imprint.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

My problem with Canete is that his sketchiness made it hard to follow some sequences or feel the emotional impact of events going on. At least for me.

It didn't help that the coloring seem darker than what was done before he came on.

You should read the Punisher, if you typically like Remender's stuff and have an interest in the Punisher. At least the first five issues. They're fun.

So this means no Legion of the Supernatural even though IDW solicited issues 1 & 2 but they never shipped?

Please don't stop your creator owned books Rick. Good luck and congrats on the deal hope it is fun and lucrative. Just don't forget us folks who don't read DC/Marvel.

Thanks for Gigantic, Fear Agent and End League.

Contempt prior to investigation is low thinking.

This isn't a war you need to choose a side in. Mainstream/indy... it's comics. Made by people. Some people can't translate what they do from one side to the other, sure. But before you decide I'm one of them, read the issues.

If any of you go out and buy all 6 issues of my Punisher stuff and don't like it I'll refund you the cover price and send you a creator-owned trade of your choice.

I'm making the exact same books at Marvel that I make on my own. That's why they wanted me at the company, to do what I do. That can't be said about some of the work I've done elsewhere.

I stand behind my Punisher as much as I do Fear Agent.

I hope that wasn't directed at me. I have no contempt for mainstream it's just that I gernerally don't like the stuff. Whenever a creator I like writes mainstream stuff I check it out. I have only stayed with a few of those books: Gotham Central, Alias, Manhuter, Monolith, Runaways, (which has sadly become marginalized junk), The Mighty come to mind. You can see where they usually end up. Otherwise the books just don't click with me- part of the reason I moved on from the mainstream long ago- even its best stuff doesn't work for me. I've never been a Punisher fan so even your writing isn't enough for me.

Anywho- League of Supernatural- any comment?

Legion of Supernatural is on hold due to a personal issue in Bret Blevins' life. I have an exclusion in my Marvel contract for the series if and when he can come back to it we will.

Read my Punisher. You'll like it. Really.

Thanks for the update. Hope it's nothing to terrible for Bret.

Now that you've throw the gauntlet I'll check out your Punisher.
