So we are getting Young Avengers back. Sometime. And it's actually being written now?

This the part that bugged me about his answer:
Marvel should not feel the need to do this. If the creators want to take their time with a story and characters then they should do creator owned work. Marvel owns the New Avengers and if there are fans out there asking for them to be featured regularily, then they should have looked to other creators to do so.We just felt internally that we owed Allan this latitude as the guy who, along with Jimmy Cheung, brought these characters to life.
Catering to 'big name' creators is one of the biggest problems with Marvel today.

Recently Finished: Queen & Country Definitive Edition Vol. 2; Complete Essex County; GI Joe Civil War Compendium
I think the question of whether or not Heinberg is a "big name" is relevant here. Even in "geek" circles, did anyone know who he was prior to YA? His name doesn't carry the weight of JMS, Whedon, or Smith, thats for sure. But for some reason, Quesada feels loyalty to him. Heinbeg hasn't shown any loyalty to Marvel, sure, but whatever.
I also feel like Joe didnt really answer my question, which was about the business reasoning. He gave me a personal answer, probably because as a business decision it makes zero sense. The book has been gone for 3 years, during which time we've had sporadic limited series which don't sell anything near what the title did. Makes zero sense. Sales thrown out the window...
I have to wonder if Marvel would still be in business if guys like Quesada had been around during the 60s. "Gotta cancel FF for awhile, Kirby is off to DC and we owe it to the guy to wait for his return, he helped bring these characters to life..."

Had nobody ever taken into account that probably nobody wants to write YA stories?
I mean, how attractive is to come up with stuff for little versions of the Avengers team?
If that's all you think it is, then clearly you've never read Young Avengers.
I think the better question you should ask is who would WANT to writer Young Avengers stories considering they have to follow in Heinberg's footsteps? He wrote a great series and it would be hard to live up to that.
