Hi Axel, I have a questions this time around;

First off, I am loving AvX! So far this has been my favourite event book, and on that note; Luke Cage has been a major player with the Avengers for ove half a decade now, yet he has never had a significant role in any of the event book, with the spotlight always falling on Cap, Iron Man & Thor (for the Avengers)- will we see Luke have a larger role to play in future events?

Secondly, how much sway does publishing have over animation at Marvel? The recent news of cancelation of Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes and immediate replacement with a new Avengers Assemble cartoon has sparked much ire on the message boards. It seems to me (& apparently a lot of fans) that creating a singular team in the movie, 1 book & cartoon universes insulates & fractures this group from the rest of the books, diluting the whole Avengers franchise rather than enhancing it (which was the obvious intent).

Lastly, what is your opinion of the recent WSJ "book review" that seemed to insinuate that the big 2 (even going so far as to name Joe Q & Brian Bendis among others) are responsible for the comics industry's perceived inaccessibility for fans of the Avengers movie?

Hi Axel, even before last week's WSJ article I had been wondering about the connection between comic sales and movie viewings. I view it as more of a marketing issue than a creative one, however. Now that Marvel is its own studio, why haven't we been seeing ads for the comics in front of the movies? The ads could get people into the digital comic shop in the same way that the print coupons on the digital shop bring people in the physical shops. I'm just picturing something before the movie (and before they tell you to put your phones away) that tells you to go to the Android or iPhone app and enter a code to get a free issue digitally or something. Then maybe they get an invitation/reminder for the next time Marvel has a digital-to-print coupon. Also, weren't there supposed to be TV ads for Avengers vs X-Men?

Hey Axel

Why do you guys make it so hard to keep up with Trade paper backs by keeping so make of them out of print? And even the Essentials line is mostly out of print for big titles like X-men why? I like the essentials and i find it makes it easy to collect current series by buying the back issues in the essentials format since it collects all the issues in chronological order. but they are so hard top keep track of because they are always going out of print and it drives the price up. It turns me off to buying and i know i'm not the only one. so whats up? Can't at least the Essentials be easy to find for us fans?

And not just the ever prominent Eternals, Deviants, Inhumans, and Atlanteans: there's the Moloids and Lava Men, the New Berliners from the Torch mini, the Old Atlanteans from Fantastic Four, the androids in Secret Avengers, the list goes on…

Once AvX wraps, don't suppose you can reveal where next BP will be appearing? Based on X-Men Legacy #268 where the Stepford Cuckoos are using telepathy to enforce peace in Africa, plus several other sneak peaks, is the Utopia being implemented by the Phoenix Five veering ever so closely (and disturbingly) to the situation in Squadron Earth when back in Mark Gruenwald's classic 1980's miniseries the Squadron Supreme set about bringing world peace (eerily named the Utopia Program) at the cost of free will and civil liberties, a program that ended disastrously?

Hey Axel,

The Ultimate line has been firing on all cylinders lately. I really like the new direction that Brian Wood is taking the X-men and I'm as equally excited to see what Sam Humphries is going to do in Ultimates. The last issue of Spider-man was incredible. Please keep David Marquez around as long ad you can with Sara. I am really excited for Divided We Fall because the Ultimate Universe is such a different landscape and it feels so full of possibilities. Ok question time.

In the latest Ultimate X-men Johnny decided to stay behind with the kids. He seems to be an outcast even among the outcasts since he's not a mutant. I was looking forward to seeing that develop. Will he make an appearance any time during DWF?

Also in the latest USM preview art we see Miles trying to quiet Ganke down. Will Ganke's loud mouth and enthusiasm become a problem for them going forward? Will we get an explanation as to how the Venom Blast works at some point? Is it only tactile? I know I've asked you this a few times but when is Miles getting some webs of his own? I don't need specifics but maybe you can say within this year.

Miles has a lot people to meet this year with Aunt May, Captain America and the Amazing Spider-man. So I'm intrigued about how these people will affect his path in life and super heroics.

I have no specific Ultimates questions but if you would like to drop any tidbits feel free.

Hey Axel,

I just finished reading the latest Scarlet Spider and I really enjoy what Chris Yost is doing on that book. There seems to be an animal theme coming into play with the hunters, wolves, the serpent and spiders. Also with Madame Webs appearance the mystical part of the Spider-man mythos comes into play? Will we be seeing more of the mystical aspects previously introduced in the other storyline in the series?

I'm really enjoying the fact that there are significantly fewer tie-ins to AvX than past events. I think there were nearly 150 issues when counting up everything for Fear Itself, whereas AvX only has 66. Is this a trend we can expect to see continued in the future? It also helps my bank account balance remain higher.
