    Default New Warriors Death toll?

I was just poking around on Wikipedia and saw that Aegis died in the Hercules comic recently. Man, is it just me or does it seem like the Warriors seem to have a much higher "die and stay dead" death rate than any other team?

    Namorita
    Night Thrasher
    Turbo (Mike Jeffries)
    Speedball (Darrion Grobe)
    Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly)
    Aegis
    Bolt
    Microbe
    Ripcord
    Skybolt
    Longstrike
    Scarlet Spider (Michael)

    Well, let's look at those.

Namorita, Night Thrasher, and Microbe all died in CIVIL WAR. Cannon fodder for a big event. When you're a member of a team whose book has been cancelled, that tends to happen (see Infinity Inc., pre-Johns).

Turbo and Fake Speedball were killed off in the course of the first NEW WARRIORS series and swiftly replaced with a more competent version and a real version, respectively.

Aegis just died, so it's a little early to say anything.

Ben Reilly and Bolt were basically on loan to the New Warriors from the Spider-Man titles and the X-Men titles, respectively. They both died in their "home" franchises.

Ripcord, Skybolt, and Longstrike were killed off to give Grevioux's NEW WARRIORS an "anything can happen" vibe. Given the amount of characterization each received, it's pretty clear they were only on the team to get killed off.

Scarlet Spider II.1 was introduced in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE and died in AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE. And, as with Turbo, the team already had a spare.

Maybe I'm over-rationalizing some of these deaths, but the only ones I see who've really been mistreated because of their New Warriors affiliation are the Civil War casualties.

On top of that, I can easily see a future writer bringing Night Thrasher and Namorita back quite easily... and I think the probability of it happening is quite high.

Microbe will stay dead though... but he did at least have an interesting power set, he was the one good thing that came out of the Reality TV NW mini I thought...

As long as Firestar, Turbo (MIckey Mushashi) and Dagger are not ever on that list them I'm fine. I liked Timeslip aswell, she should come back.
