Don't waste your time with this book. The art is rubbish, the plot is rubbish.

If you've ever thought about trying Savage Dragon but the high issue numbers intimidate you, why not visit the SD Wiki? You'll catch up in no time.

Wow. I have paid zero attention to this thing from the get go, figuring it would just end up being super late and a disaster. Low and behold, many many months after think that, it's exactly that!
They are doing exactly what they did back when they first started Image. Why oh why did they not finish the entire project and then solicit?
Will this thing ever actually be finished?![]()
It is painful because everything we are seeing and hearing, true or not, is that it is really ONE of the creators causing the problem![]()
I was super excited for this series, and enjoyed what has been released so far. I am now very disappointed in the schedule. I love Image, I have fond memories of the 90's, and I still read Savage Dragon every month. I just wish some of my favorite artists would get some kind of work ethic and be on some kind of regular schedule. This should have definitely been almost complete before being solicited.

Since none of us really know what is going on unfortunately we end up lumping all of the Image creators into this bucket but in reality--->
- Erik Larsen is putting out Savage Dragon monthly (no issues)
- Rob Liefeld has put out more work in the past year and half than his entire career
- Whilce Portacio seems to be churning out pages and covers everywhere
- Jim Valentino is moving forward with the new Shadowhawk series starting next month
- Marc Silvestri has been doing variant covers but I am not sure what else he has going on
- Todd McFarlane has released 3 issues of Spawn in 6 months
making the book unreliable when during David Hine's run on the book is shipped 35 issues in 37 months
I don't know the details and I know Todd has a toy empire to run but it is heartbreaking to see this happen. The creators really couldn't have done the book without a solicitation date or they never would have gotten around to it... I was optimistic about this project. Now I am just ready to move one![]()
When Image began, Comic Books were a cultural phenom. Huge. Massive. Bigger than video games. Today they are not even a blip on the radar screen. They are nothing to the masses. Only us diehards remain. Therefore, a guy like McFarlane, who has a toy empire and movie dreams, ain't gonna get his ass in gear. Especially with him no longer being a young maverick.
totally agree with you...
its really sad to see the potential this title cld hav been go to waste..
most ppl wld hav dropped it by now except for those die hart fans like me..
i wish Image wld just man up andget some one else to cover Mcfarlane's parts..
cause im so fed up of the delays at this point i dont really care who's doin the art anymore..just get the story done with..
