    Default Where To Start??

If I'm jus getting back into amazing spider-man, where do I start?? I've read civil war, and I've heard about a few things that have happened up until dark reign, but where would a good "pick up and start here" issue be? Thanks for anyone that helps!

Amazing Spider-Man #595 is the first part of "American Son", which ties into Dark Reign. It's fairly new-reader friendly. If you want to go further back you could pick up the Amazing Spider-Man: Brand New Day trade, which started the current direction in the book. Or you could wait until Amazing Spider-Man #600, which is over 100 pages for (I think) $4.99, and is being billed as a jumping on point.

Like Matt Linton said starting at #595 would be your best bet as it is the beginning of American Son and so far has been very very good. Beginning of one of the best Spider-Man stories in a while.

Like the other guys have stated, 595 is a great jump on point. Not only is it very good so far, it's right at the beginning of a 5 part story.

Looks like everything up to #583 or 584. The next one to be released is the Election Day hardcover, with ASM #584-588 and some ASM Extra stuff.

Death and Dating is the most recent release, containing 578-583, and the 2008 Annual.

I'd suggest starting from the beginning of Brand New Day and working your way up from there if you want to grab trades. If you want to start from a single issue standpoint, then I'd agree with the others and go with #595 - American Son Part 1

I started with New Ways to Die, and I feel I havnt missed much of anything. I also feel like you can jump in at almost any point and understand most of whats going on. Start with the beginning of this current arc, and I think youll be set.

Brand New Day Vol. 1 and New Ways to Die is what you need... track down the remaining Dan Slott issues too. and be sure to buy Amazing Spider-Man #600 next month!!

    Cool

Like the others said, #595 is a good jumping on point, i've only just started reading marvel comics and thats the first one i've read and i felt comfortable reading it and not too much in the deep end.

    Hope all goes well mate.
