Death Adder is back. Cool.
Why scourge's victims though? You'd think he'd bring back Frank's victims or something.
Lots of reasons:
- it adds a lot of new faces to The Hood's gang, which can go beyond just this next storyarc; also, they're getting major power-ups thanks to The Hood, so they're not gonna be so lame anymore
- Frank's victims are mostly non-costumed folks - I presume any MAX characters are not available - and since this is the Marvel Universe Punisher title, it makes more sense to used costumed guys.
- the obscurity of these characters is getting a lot of talk. If The Hood had brought back old crime bosses or generic assassins, the interest wouldn't be as high as people here, and elsewhere, have shown toward the Scourge victims
Isn't there a new Death Adder and Firebrand running around. I swear Death Adder was used recently in Captain America and Firebrand was used in Initiative last year (Butterball issue).
Death Adder and Basilisk better have some interaction. Serpents stick together, and all that.

Hijacker very much has my interest piqued.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!
If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

The Scourge killings were pretty stupid and took many decent charecters out of the Marvel universe for quite some time. (as well as many stupid ones) I do like ret-conning it away, but with THE HOOD?!? Since when does he have the ability to do that?! If he can resurrect these villians, why doesn't he use the ability to resurrect others from history. My first thought was Bonnie and Clyde, they were ok at killing people and an awsome gun battle between the Punisher and them would funny as hell. :) I also thought of many ways to make moneys with ability. Or he could resurrect JFK or other historical figures get good press. I will cut my rant short here but I could think of many better uses of that ability than to use on some awsome but D-list villians. :D
Since Dormammu gave it to him.
Despite the legend, Bonnie has been shown over time to have never actually taken part in the murders they committed. Several of their gang have come forward over the decades to coroborate that. On top of that, Clyde wasn't responsible for all the deaths either, he had a whole gang running with him. And given the choice between a couple of Depression-era bandits whose only weapons were small arms and tommy guns, and a guy who can control the Alpha & Omega stones, I'd go with the latter. If he can resurrect these villians, why doesn't he use the ability to resurrect others from history. My first thought was Bonnie and Clyde, they were ok at killing people and an awsome gun battle between the Punisher and them would funny as hell. :)
It was my first thought though and it would make a pretty good Punisher story. I did think the Hood would get them better weapons than the older stuff.
Edit: and since its comics we can go with the legend. hehe

Firebrand was always a cool Iron Man. Mainly for his outfit. Perfect super-hero/villain costume.

If it helps, Gruenwald (the writer who came up with the Scourge and who "committed" the Bar With No Name slaughter) said a few years later that he wished he hadn't killed so many (some he considered underappreciated) villains.
I'm certain he wasn't sad to kill Turner D. Century off, though.![]()
I wonder what weapons will be used when Frank fights these criminals.. he seems to ditch things as he goes along... might be a mistake..
