I think this is probably the best book Marvel is publishing.
Issue 5 definitely put the series back on the right track. I feel the love again.
[The fight against the New Avengers was the first time Temugin, the son of the supervillain known as the Mandarin, fought alongside the Agents. He may have fought well and followed the orders of team leader Jimmy Woo, but readers shouldn’t think Temugin -- who was brought into the Agents’ ranks by their sinister advisor, the Dragon Known as Mr. Lao -- is ready to follow Jimmy’s lead without question. “When editorial and I were discussing how to bring the Agents into Dark Reign and the problems of running this formerly (and often still) evil empire, Joe Quesada suggested that Jimmy be given a character who would exert pressure from within, trying to keep them on the Atlas Foundation's actual goals,” Parker revealed. “With that in mind, it occurred to me that Temugin was the most logical candidate, even named after Genghis Khan [the Atlas Foundation’s origins lie with the Mongol Empire of Genghis Khan]. Everyone else is so loyal to Jimmy, it's fun to have a dissenter in there. And readers may find their interactions close to workplace politics we all have to endure! I like seeing how it all plays out as they work together more.”]
I was intrigued at how Parker was able to include Temugin in Atlas, because Temugin already is the figure head of another vast Mandarin organisation of his own. Why would he abandon that, to lower himself before Jimmy Woo as a subordinate, when Temugin is on the same level as Jimmy?

I think it's the best "Avengers" book, and that was before the NA made an appearance. I'm disappointed that Jeff Parker isn't treating it as an "Avengers" book, and is trying to take it back to it's pulp fiction roots instead. There is real potential there to take over from one of the established teams, or, include Agents as a legitimate Initiative team.

Jeff Parker is owning Marvel right now. Everything he does is golden.
P.S. Weird question, but anyone have any idea how old he is? I wasn't sure if he was an older dude or what
I hope they explain more about what's going on with Sentry; I was intrigued when MarvelBoy got into Sentry's head and just saw darkness and light extended out infinitely.
Well first off, because his dad came back and reclaimed that organization. Temugin's control would have lasted about two seconds once his dad showed up alive and well.
There is also the teenage rebellion factor. Sure, Temugin could have stayed and accepted a second-in-command position, but he doesn't really like his father, who pretty much plopped him off at a monastery to be raised by underlings.
To Temugin, the thought of joining Yellow Claw's organization is an awesome way to rebel against daddy.
The Mandarin always considered Yellow Claw to be a weak, effeminate snob. The Mandarin is obsessed with strength and being macho. To see his son join prissy Yellow Claw's organization would be like a redneck seeing his son marching in a gay pride parade. We're talking absolute horror.
Somewhere The Mandarin is fuming with rage at the thought of his hippy son shaming the family by bending over for the fruity, prissy heir of Yellow Claw. And Temugin is enjoying every second of his macho redneck dad's misery.
Didn't Suwan end up crumbling to dust in an old Captain America issue after being merged (by the Yellow Claw) with an ancient Egyptian princess or something like that?
*read it in a Handbook, not the actual comic*

HULK IS COMINGGGG!!!
Rut-roh...!Also, some taboos get broken all to hell!
Jeff Parker was born in the 40's. But they got him some of Jimmy Woo's De-Aging Goo ("Woo Goo" for short) so he looks a lot younger than he is. :p
No offense, but I really like the way the team is positioned now. They're pretending to be the bad guys... sort of an anti-thesis to the Dark Avengers. It makes you think about all the other pulp-y Evil Empires-- what if they were all just faking it? lolI think it's the best "Avengers" book, and that was before the NA made an appearance.
