In a school setting there's always a requirement for wallpaper, it would seem.

I feel like with the new mutant boom, now would be a great time to just let bradshaw have some fun and design his own wallpaper. IMO I prefer "hey that random looks cool!" to "Ugh he/she is STILL just hanging around?"

Limbo is far preferable to wallpaper to me. At least limbo allows you to rationalize fantasies of how your favorite character would have come in and fixed everything, wallpaper provides empirical evidence that they just stood there and did nothing while all the bad stuff was happening.

And this. Especially depending on the character. Like when one of those "wallpaper" character would be really relevant to the story at hand but for some inexplicable reason is MIA.

The outcome is still the same, though; the YA and the JGHS are two very different worlds, with very different stories, and I think that's wonderful.

Agreed, but a bulk of the "wallpaper" characters in WaTXM don't really fit that "world". I guess I'm saying that there are well liked characters who could very easily fit an X version of that "being 18" book, but currently they're just JGS wallpaper.

So not at all an either/or thing, just a missed opportunity.

Aaron has put most of them in short trousers and the mentality of early teens. Anole, apparently, will be the sole JGHS graduate in the next year.

For some, the Marvel timeline moves on. For others, it never does. The only "constant" is that each character moves at a different rate.

Tell me about it! I think Jubilee is still considered 18 in the MU. Even though she's now an immortal vampire, she's been portrayed as a teenager since her first appearance in the 80's. Kind of ridiculous.

Because she fits perfectly. This whole book is having bouncy happy or sarcastic people, and Pixie seems like a shoe in.

And Nor-Var is kinda the bland one of the lineup. For example, if you list off the characters, who would be the one you may forget or bring up last?

True, but he seems to be the one people bring up the least when talking about the book.

But just saying, Pixie has the least baggage and is open for goofy rifts with the other characters moreso than the other New X-Men. It's kinda obvious it's her.

Jubilee got down-aged to a minor when she was brought back. It was a brilliant move in my opinion, as it gave us the fantastic friendship of Laura and Jubilee.

Pixie is a great choice if they want to add another lively and fun character, but it breaks the theme of the Young Avengers being a collection of legacy heroes rather than just a motley assemblage of teenagers.
