Billy was bullied as a kid, then got powers, then got recruited by Iron Lad to be a Young Avenger. He met and began dating Teddy, and eventually learned he was the reincarnated (sort of) son of the Scarlet Witch. He currently does not want to be a super hero any longer.

Really, I found the original Ya to be easy to get into as everything you needed to know was presented in the issue. I hadn't really followed any mainstream Marvel before picking it up.

I can take the hair but Billy you are gay, you should have better taste than some old 80s Workout Barbie blouse. He just need legwarmers to go with it.

It seems like straight artists have an idea of what is "gay" that is different than what actual gay people do.

It was the first comic book I ever read, so I was lost when it came to characters they were referencing. The first issue was easy to jump into, though.

Two things I loved about this when it first came out:

1) It accurately notes how tragic Teddy's life has been, and smartly compares it to Billy, who tends to get more plot-hugs than Teddy does.
2) Gillen's reference to what he went through with Journey into Mystery: "Be there or be involved in a string of massive corporate crossover events for your entire run."

Well, the original Miss America was once thought to be Wanda's birth mother, which of course means that MAC's idol and namesake was the fake mother of the woman that created Wiccan's spirit out of thin air, so they're like cousins in a way. I expect, nay, DEMAND, that this be addressed in painstaking detail.

I'm interested in reading about MAC's past. I wonder how she gained her powers and about her life prior to Young Avengers and the Vengeance mini. Plus I want her to put Hawkeye in her place.

Now that Avengers Academy is over, I would love to see the new White Tiger, Ava Ayala join the Young Avengers team. Two Puerto Rican female characters on the same team ()! At the same time ()! I would be forever grateful and loyal to the comic if that happened...
