Yes yes YES.No. This series won't have any flashbacks at all really. The whole idea is that we're trying to tell all-new stories with all-new villains. To move Wolverine into the future instead of focusing on his past.

Those preview pages were so good. This book has the classic Wolverine series vibe and I couldn't be happier. The reporter seems like a fun character as well. I'm all over this.
But, for God's sake. Emma? Again? We see Logan and Emma interacting in Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine Origins and even in Millar's futuristic tale!
How about some Cannonball? Storm? Rogue? Psylocke? All with very close ties with Logan.
