Default Economic crisis mishandled by Bernanke.

I am looking for the appropriate forum here to address everyone here to draw their attention to the crisis in our society which is going to affect us all.

The Federal Reserve chairman is trying to solve the problem by printing up an enormous amount of paper currency, hopes he can withdraw funds if there is a sign of inflation, but in the event he is unable to do so, we are on the verge of a massive hyperinflation.

One Congressman who abides by the original Constitutional limits on the once newly established federal government has submitted a House Resolution 1207 so the federal reserve system may be audited for the first time. It presently has 143 co sponsors but remains in a committee.

Congressman Ron Paul created the Campaign For Liberty which I joined last summer when there were just 6000 of us, now there are 151839; there were only 40 campuses and now there are over 125 colleges involved.

No cost to join. Plan is to run candidates for every Congressional seat every two years until we take enough of them to restore the Constitution. The Congress is supposed to have just the powers granted in Article 1 section 8 but it has ignored the limits despite the oath they all take to get in. Our C4L candidates will run in the major parties.

Read the articles on the left column of http://www.investmentrarities.com/ to get an idea what grown ups who have experience and know how regarding finance and the history of such events as deflations, depressions, inflations, and hyperinflations. You might want to postpone purchase of a comic book and buy some silver coins instead!

So where is it appropriate to post something like this?
Thanks. Oh! You might enjoy reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged too.

No, not another newbie poster with a political agenda!

What happen to the days where, new posters would rather talk about, oooh, I don't know, comic books or Star Trek.

maybe it's because people are now worried about having to choose between food and comic books given the state of the economy. The choice seems obvious until you take into account the fact that if you don't eat every now and then you'll eventually lose the energy to read them.

    galtgulch fell into the trap:

Oh! You might enjoy reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged too.
And you might want to take another read with a more critical eye. Most of Ayn's philosophies are badly ripped off from Aristotle (key word, BADLY) and turn into self-serving "give the finger to the world" type stuff. It's a good read for people just starting to understand how certain things work (especially in government), but you shouldn't take it too seriously. It's overblown and no "meritocracy" is going to work because different people have different ideas on what "merits" such a thing. She had a handful of decent ideas, but it's mostly horse-shit, obviously driven by her disappointment with capitalism after fleeing the Communists in her youth.Taken at more than just the surface value, it's pretty mean-spirited and self-important.

I'm still trying to work out how you can just shrug with Ayn's Atlas. Most atlases these days are Huuuuuge! And they weigh a ton!

You'll just have to work harder! Be more self-sufficient! What, do you expect the government you pay to help you??

I'm sure some capitalist entrepreneur from the private sector will come out and help you. They're so well KNOWN for such things.

I kind of like people who put all their cards on the table, right at the start, so everyone knows what they stand for.

Welcome, GG! Almost everyone here is going to disagree with you (and I myself will surely have a number of issues) but this is indeed an acceptable forum for political/economic arguments.

It hadn't occurred to me that one side effect of the Republicans' general decline would be the empowerment of Ron Paul's movement; but it makes sense. He's been predicting disaster, and disaster happened. This is probably what the mainstream economic right is going to look like in the near future.

(Except perhaps for the Ayn Rand part; which, given your handle, is obviously important to you.)

    But we'll see!

I think its hilarious that Ron Paul still has his "believers", after he never made it out of the primaries.

Awww, please, no handsocks! That'll make it even harder to hold the atlas! Big glossy covers are SLIPPERY when wearing socks!

Well, he does sound interested in hemp as a viable resource or business.

Yes, we all would enjoy reading a book where the protagoists are equally divided abetween gredy scumbags and lazy scumbags with nothing in the middle?

I tend to prefer conscience and compassion to the mindless greed Rand idealizes.

I would guess thought hat most of the people here have read that piece of propaganda already.
