Maybe that could be her new thing.
instead of being found by batman, she was found by etrigan and madame xanadu. (I kid)
Maybe its notes that point out what each character's facial expression should be. Cass has one next to her too. I dunno...
I saw a few sites mention this:
http://www.craveonline.com/comics/ar...l-access-day-1Batgirl Of San Diego is here - asking about Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain, saying that Miller was her favorite writer of Steph. Apparently, they can't answer it, but Snyder says they all love Cass and Steph, but those decisions are above most of the panel. There will be a young woman coming up in Batman that will play a huge role to try and fill that void.
Not sure what to make of that but apparently there was an interview where Snyder said he had written Cass into the party scene in Batman #1 but had to take her out.
You would think if these so called people making decisions that are above those at the panel( who always claim they love any of the benched characters but are obviously never making a play to bring them back ) would have taken note that fans are asking for them and their employees claim to like them would say, "hey let's do something with them"Q: Batgirl Of San Diego is here - asking about Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain, saying that Miller was her favorite writer of Steph. You are way too logical. If you worked at DC, you would have been fired by now.
And there never seems to be enough time for someone to ask 'why?'... Because it seems to me that DC just won't admit they have negative plans for some characters, not only are they not actively soliciting stories for them, they are shooting down writers that want to use them. And honesty tends to turn out better than false optimism, which makes everyone jaded.
I would like to say for the record that this is the FIRST TIME I've withheld dong when someone was so desperately asking for some.

I can see it now
Me: Oh man I'm so happy to be here, man do I have plans
DC Boss: And we are eager for you to get to work
Me: Yeah I have this idea to bring back Wally and Donna that makes perfect sense and steps on no one's toes. Plus I know how to make a team up book with Cass and Steph that could really beef up the Batline!
DC Boss: Pack you things and get out, someone call security

Its funny coz its true. I gather there have been at least 2 serious proposals by creators to bring back Wally West. Brett Booth had one, and the other was by... it escapes my mind, but it was a couple of notable guys. I'll have to google it.

That reminds me . . .
I vaguely remember that, years ago, I wrote (and posted here on CBR) a mock dialogue that might be taking place in a comic book editor's office.
The writer had just handed in a script that didn't blatantly contradict any previously established continuity for any of the participating characters in his story.
Naturally the editor felt it necessary to have a man-to-man talk with the writer about this terrible mistake.
I haven't read my own silly parody in years, but I think the gist of the editor's position went something like this: "Steve, if you don't give the diehard fans something to gripe and whine about, they may lose interest! Now insert a couple of weird references and/or flat-out contradictions regarding what characters have done in the past -- so that this script will show your apparent contempt for the details of continuity as they were created by your 'less-talented' predecessors on this title! Then the fans can send in hate mail explaining where you went wrong! It's the path to success!"

Interesting that they don't want Steph or Cass to appear, but they will allow Scott to introduce a new young woman, who apparently isn't Barbara. Steph and Cass are pretty different characters, so it's hard to imagine a new third character filling whatever void Scott is referring to. I guess it's possible, but given what's happened with Steph & Cass, it's hard to want to attach to any bat female.Batgirl Of San Diego is here - asking about Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain, saying that Miller was her favorite writer of Steph. I spoke to Kyrax2 (who was the question asker) on Twitter about it, since the CBR story was kinda vague. Her exact words were "a 'popular' female character...would be appearing in issue 7. I did not get the impression that he meant Cass or Steph, but I could be wrong.". So it may not be Cass or Steph, but I don't think it's entirely new. I guess we'll find out in two whole days, and I'm not going to react one way or another until then.

I decided to narrow my guess as to who will appear down. It will be someone unpopular who no-one cares about, or Montoya. So it'll probably be Misfit or Proxy.
