Well look at this way. April last year looked bleak for Cass. Editorial shot down her appearing in Birds. Fans were pissed. Next month Cass shows up in Batman Inc #6. Then again you could be quite right. .... WHY DO I STILL HAVE THIS BLUE RING ON?!

Behold, I shall be a blight upon the land, and everything I touch shall wither and die!
Kyle Higgins would be my first choice to write Cass if she ever showed up again. I loved Gates of Gotham.
By Phil Noto.
Jean Grey : What makes you such a bitch, Emma?
Emma Frost : Breeding, darling. Top class breeding.
Yeah, the sales or popularity excuse never made sense in the first place.
"After a long absence, the original Thor returned to his comic book, only to discover that comics in the 90s were very different to what he remembered. But Thor quickly fit right in by going violently insane."
"You know, if everyone the Punisher killed turns out to be no more dead than anyone else who dies in Marvel Comics, he's going to be in BIG trouble one of these days."

Cass, my personal favorite Batgirl. I'd love to see her in a New 52 series titled Black Bat, chronicling her heroic adventures in Asia as part of Bruce's Batman Incorporated team. But I wouldn't have her on the actual Batman Incorportaed title, but in her own book, much like Batwing is part of Batman Inc and has his own title.
I don't understand why they put Cass in Asia, she doesn't even speak the language.
Isn't Hong Kong an English speaking city?
And that's really sad since Cass is one of the few minority characters that aren't defined by their ethnicity.
They speak both English and Cantonese. However, they do most of their business with China. A lot of the criminal organizations that operate there are going to be Chinese.
well there is more info on the appearence of Lady Shiva in Nightwing
Source
but here is the important part
the way this is put, it looks like both Shiva and Dick have a very similar age, which could mean a lot of things for Cassandra Cain"In this story, both Dick and Shiva have grown up some since their first encounter—they’re not teenagers anymore—so it’ll be fun to see how each fares in a fair fight. Wait, did I say fair fight? Forget it—Shiva remains by far the better fighter, so it’s up to Dick to find a way just stay alive!"
maybe this is another Shiva and the old one is still the mother of Cass, or maybe Shiva is no longer her mother completely retconing the batgirl series
thoughts?
