Something tells me that JJJ is going to have Spider-pobia when this mini is all over.

Mmyeaaaah. So, between this and the Hawkeye mini, I really don't think the MU protagonists are going to have to do anything to prove their claims. Osborn's PR doesn't stand a chance.

Another important “Sinister Spider-Man” character is looking to stop Mac’s plans, but his reasons for doing so are much more altruistic than Osborn’s. This character’s name isn’t Peter Parker, though. “[Marc’s] also going to run into a gentlemen, a new character, who that thinks that even the most evil people can be saved and they’re going to have a bit of a chat,” Reed hinted.
    Hrm..

    Anti-Venom.

I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

“'Sinister Spider-Man' came from talking about the fact that the whole Marvel Universe thinks Spider-Man is living in Avengers Tower, when it's really Mac Gargan, who has a long history as a sociopath,” Reed told CBR News.

Reed should have read ASM, where Spider-Man is running around NY in the RIGHT costume, and fighting Menace etc. Don't the MU people think that maybe it's a little confusing to see the Black Costume version as SM, but the other SM from ASM, roaming the streets as well. I mean they arrested and put the real deal on trial, until he broke out, so after that the Black Costume appears and now that is Spider-Man? I doubt the MU citizens are confused and think Venom is Spider-Man.
Visited NY and DC and saw Spider-Man Turn off the Dark.

I'm going to quote Matt Fraction on this one.

    "It's a comic book."

as much as i dont like to nit pick like this because i feel it puts me in the same category as "them", i actually kinda agree....my guess is that certain things arent caught up with each other in ASM and DA.

and of course.....its a comic book

Man, I don't really like Venom, and I don't think Mac Gargan is too interesting, since he's nuts...but Chris Bachalo is drawing this...I really want this now.

    I don't know.

As cool as the art looks, Brian Reed writing this doesn't fill me with any sense of anticipation for it given that his Ms. Marvel has fallen flat for me and the Secret Invasion Spider-Man book has been hailed as terrible by practically everyone.

according to Marvel, most of the MU public dont even believe in aliens, and most of them supported the SHRA despite the countless times the heroes had saved the city/country/planet/universe/multiverse. make of that what you will.

I remember Tom Brevoort saying that about the aliens as well during the Civil war Q & A sessions here at CBR and I thought the basis for that was pretty flimsy.

    Especially now after Secret Invasion.
