Real jobs people have only, please.
What's the job you'd most like to have in your real life?
Is it something you could actually attain, and if so, are you
doing anything to achieve it?

Black Canary owns your world.
Does lottery winner or heiress count?
Housewife to a handsome, successful man. But no children!
I kinda have part of my dream job, which is making money off my chicken scratch I call art. But the one I'm going for in the 'actual, steady paycheck' sense is my boss'. He's the IT/Tech buyer for the electrical retail chain I work for.
He knows I want his job. It's only a matter of time...
Both are actually pretty damn attainable. I just have to nut at them both a while to have my name buzzing in the ears of managements.
I used to want to get into the music industry as a songwriter. Before that I wanted to be a rock star, of course, but then I thought about how my life would get turned upside down and I wouldn't have any secrets. Writing songs (or co-writing) gives you the best of both worlds, because you get credit and you get royalties but nobody recognizes you or bothers you when you go out in public.
I seriously doubt I could ever attain it, and I'm not trying.
"His name is Kettch, and he's an Ewok."
"No."
"Oh yes. Determined to fight. You should hear him say 'Yub, yub.' He makes it a battle cry."
That, or writing Wonder Woman. And yes, I'm doing something to attain that goal. I've spent thousands in plastic surgery and countless hours studying her every move so that I can seamlessly take over Gail Simone's life.
My dream job is Gail Simone's boy toy. Barring that: Comic artist. My efforts to achieve this? Love letters to comic writers aside, not much. Constant attention to my craft. Ignorance of the outside world, not limited to extended conversations with the owner of my local LCS and a small cloister of likewise-minded social misfit/comic fans who haven't a hope in hell of matching my handsomeness--this is a must. I'm an absolute babe in the woods. Love your Wonder Woman stuff,
Ryan
I already have my dream job: drawing and creating comic books.![]()
Broadway musical actress.
There's not much I could do to attain it as I'm a triple threat when it comes to musical theater: I can't sing, can't dance, and have no acting skill. I suppose it might be possible to learn the latter two skills, but I still don't have the voice and there's nothing to be done about that.
Besides that, elementary school teacher. It's attainable, and I apply every year, and every year stink up the room at every job interview I go to (four this year).
I do like my current job, though, so it isn't all bad. I think very few people get their dream job. There are two few jobs of this sort and too many people who want them.
Passion is nice wherever you find it. Character is what matters, not gender or race.

If I had my time over, I'd gone into the army.
Now ? Hmm... Guess I'll stick with nursing until I think of something else.

Unfortunately, I've come to realise I have no idea.
I wanted to be a lawyer since the age of 5, and completed half of my degree before I acknowledged how much I hated the subject and field.
Since then I've wanted to work in space exploration. I'm studying for a Physics A-level, with an aim of continuing my studies in this field, but I've have no clue as to what role I want.
I'm also writing. I've got a idea for a long long story, so I'm building the world the story's set in. But then given how many people want to be the next JK Rowling (personally, I'm aiming for Peter F. Hamilton status), I'm not sure how many people will actually get the chance to read whatever I create. That and I'm quite lazy!
