My heart goes out to Len and his family. I hope they're able to recover most of what they lost, although I heard a lot of original art was destroyed, which is a darn shame. And as a pet owner myself, I'm sure the death of their dog was the biggest blow.
As for Len's upcoming issues on JLA, Plastic Man appearing is a pleasant surprise. I hope Dwayne keeps him around afterward, assuming he's permitted to. And while we're on the subject of Len's past work, I just want to say how much I enjoy the EXO Squad animated series, for which he wrote a couple of episodes, as well as the single issue of the comic book based on it. I don't know who owns the rights, but I would buy a new Len Wein EXO Squad comic book series in a heartbeat.

My Heart goes out to Mr. Wein and his loss. My heart also goes out to the many fans of the JLA and our loss of decent stories that don't reek of a cartoon show. Meltzer built an awesome team that I cared about then passed it off to McDuffie who thought... you know what, who cares what he thought. I hope JLA is cool again sometime soon. Failing that i hope it is at least readable.
in brightest day in darkest night i will find my way to the fridge and get me a beer
The first 13 episodes just came out on DVD in North America a couple of weeks ago, Anthony. I was thrilled to get it myself. I've had the series sitting on my external hard drive for forever now, but getting to see it again in the far more presentable quality of DVD is great.
Now would be the perfect time for a publisher to pounce on this property, and with so many series nowadays continuing in comic book form, I can't think of a better candidate than EXO Squad. And again, get Len to write it!

I would buy this book anyway because I love Len Wein and the Justice League, but I'm definitely buying it so sales are good enough to support Mr. Wein getting more work at DC.
I also really feel bad about the loss of his dog. Since I don't have any kids yet and my parents are both still alive, loosing a dog or cat is the worst pain I've ever been dealt. My prayers go out to Mr. Wein and his family.
