Glad to see Cyclops is getting his due again. Man is like Rodney Dangerfield, can't get no respect, his own appreciation thread gets deleted. Lame.
I too am a big cyclops fan, my favorite x character without a doubt. It has been stated many times his leadership abilities are second only to Cap (for all you nay-sayers) and with Cap being dead, I guess Scott is the best leader-tactition marvel has. I can say this new drastic change isnt the cyclops i grew up with, but its an understandable concept considering the situation. Scott's in survival mode, trying to keep a dying species going at all costs. The man has had more crap dumped on him over the years than wolvie easily. (sure wolvie gets tortured and screwed with, but really try and compare any of his hard times to the stuff Scott has gone through). And the picture with rockslide.... umm wheres his legs? I know he took Xavier's job, but he doesnt need to be a cripple to do it.
I thought of this while doing a project recently.. who draws the best looking Cyclops?
I really like Mike Choi's drawing of him in the Divided arc of Uncanny.
Cassaday draws a great realisitic Scott, but I'd have to say Salvodor Larocca in his original run on the x-books and Adam and Andy Kubert were my favorite artists on the book.
Cassaday's Scott really was brilliant. Even with the visor-less look, he incorporated Morrison's New X-Men jacket which just looked totaly killer
