I'm a little confused over this current situation myself. Still, the GotG may not be willingly working for the Shi'ar, as the opening paragraph of the article concerns "those characters that have been coerced, manipulated or cajoled by Vulcan into fighting his Kree and Inhuman enemies in the cosmic chess game that is “War of Kings.” I mean, they already revealed that Rocket Racoon will be taking down Gladiator, which I'm definitely interested in seeing, so the GotG are not totally for the Shi'ar. We'll see how this goes.I wonder why they're going to back the Shi'Ar.

I can't wait to see how Rocket Raccoon takes down Gladiator.
Considering Starhawk's prediction it's Black Bolt screaming that's going to wreck the universe so even if Vulcan is a crazed despot, he's the best chance of stopping him.
Rocket Racoon taking down Gladiator will be the greatest moment in comic history ever.
No lie.
ROcket Racoon vs Galidator, now this is a fight worth waiting for.![]()
I can see the Guardians backing the Shi'ar for a few reasons.
The first that springs to mind is that Quill and Ronan don't like each other.
