What I still can't figure out is how Darkhawk fits into the story. He doesn't exactly seem real involved as yet.

I imagine we'll be seeing him as a black pawn in the next one of these.

I get the impression he's not going to come down Shi'Ar though, and that seems to be the delineation between white/black

    He's wearing bird-based space armor.

Which side do you think the Raptors are on?

Why does the White Pawns article refer to Polaris as Quicksilver's sister? I thought Magneto as her father was a ruse from a vintage (pre-Uncanny) X-Men storyline. Was it rewritten into fact somewhere?

It's been written as fact, then revealed as false, then fact, then false a bunch of times....it's currently fact.

(and I'm gonna handwave that Wanda's rewriting of reality at the start and end of HoM makes it truth now, when before it wasn't....ahhh...geek continuity satisfaction!).

Edit: it's also fact in the Wolverine/X-Men toon and the new Exiles, so that seems to be the company line.)

Powerhouses like Nova, Wendell Vaughn, and Rachel Grey are considered pawns?

The King isn't the most powerful piece on the chessboard, but is the one that's most important.

It has been a few years now, I think around 2003 or 2004, when it was revealed that Lorna, is in fact, Magento's daughter.
Read about the greatest series ever, Alpha Flight...from the beginning!

It was in New X-Men in 2002 when the storyline was restarted in the 616. You had her in that issue and then later in Uncanny 426 calling him her father again, but with no answer as to why she was doing so. It wasn't until 2003 that the DNA test/reveal happened.

You can also take down a king with just a pawn.

Every piece is important. But remember this: If a pawn makes it to the enemy start....they become whatever they want, making it a very dangerous piece amongst every other piece.

    But as I read it......

"Wendell is a good guy. And he will fight to stop a war."

Anybody else read that and go....."not again...."

Granted I'm probably too "Wendell-centric" in my thoughts here....but they did say he'd play a role.......

As for everything else from the Black Pawn/White Pawn articles...I only have this to say:

    Quasanova vs. the GotG

    Bring it.

I wonder if Quasar is going to get a new body after this is done and over with, or if Rich will become the new Quasar with Wendell being an adviser like roll, like Eon was for him.
