You know.....Derek Reese is the only reason to watch that horrible Sarah Connor show (God knows it's the only reason I watch that train crash week in week out.) Not only has BAG grown as an actor...he's pretty awesome as a bad ass also. Hey, I've heard worse ideas as Hal Jordan. I can't say he's the best choice...but I've heard worse. Plus, I'm always up for a nice comeback story.
We'd like to wish EZMOHR all the best in his future....ah forget it.
I could see him more as Guy Gardener. Even though I poke fun at him in the She-Hulk thread, he really has improved and become a pretty good actor. I haven't seen the second season of Sarah Connor, but he was pretty good in the first one. The show wasn't bad, either.

Yeah, he definitely wasn't somebody that I pictured when the idea about casting came about.
But after Sarah Connor, I can TOTALLY see this.
Totally down with that.

He kind of does look like Hal. BAG definitely has the acting chops to do this. I agree that from a demeanor standpoint he seems more like Kyle.
So now BAG he wants to be known as BAGL?
Brian Austin Green Lantern.![]()
I admit I watched the show Freddy a few years back and he played a playful womanizer so he could pull that aspect off and I do like him in TSCC.
He should get an audition.
He's got the look and seems to have a pretty good attitude about it. Has experience in a dramatic part that has enabled him to get past his days on a teen show which is always a hard shadow for any actor to the hell out from under.
Give him an audition and a costume test.
When I first saw this thread I thought, good God no...but I hadn't seen Green in several years. He could probably pull it off.

Be water.
I think if they've kept that cocky fly boy personality of test pilot Hal Jordan, I think BAG could be a really good BAGL. Not a bad choice at all.

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
No thanks. I'd choose to keep BAG out of the GL movie if it was up to me. I've seen a few episodes of Sarah Connor and I admitt he's become a better actor over the years. However, I'd prefer someone with some stronger dramatic acting chops and someone that would be taken seriously in the role.
I'm sure people will disagree with this, but I bet the average person still associates him with 90210. And in light of recent casting trends of getting really great well respected actors in comic book movies, I fear putting BAG in Green Lantern as the lead would harm the image of the movie to someone who doesn't know a thing about GL. And let's face most people on the street aren't really going to know much about GL and it's competely different from what moviegoers have seen so far in terms of a mainstream comic book movie.
With all that being said, I personally couldn't picture him as Hal either. Cool that he's interested in all. But no thanks.
i gotta say i feel the same way as everyone else here, at first i was like "Uhh thats wierd" but as i thought more about Terminator and checked out some recent pictures i think this could kind of be a pleasant surprise.
for the people saying maybe kyle, i cant believe im saying this,i think BAG might be a little TOO bad ass for kyle.
my world is upside down right now.
He's definitely right about this - "they’re planning on skewing younger with the character. I’ve heard somewhere in like the mid-twenties, which, being a Green Lantern fan, I don’t necessarily agree with. I’ve always kind of felt that Hal Jordan needs to be a man. He needs to be somebody who lives a little and experienced a lot."
He's not anyone I would have ever considered, in my head he's always been the more sensative artsy Kyle type, but seeing that pic of him now, and from a clip I just watched he could maybe pull it off, he really seems to get the character, if he can bring this to it -
"You have this guy who is in the fight for the greater good but at the same time he’s fucking lost so much. He’s so angry and so frustrated that it’s a hard line to walk. It’s hard to look every situation in its eyes and make the right choice."
That is Jordan, so give the man a shot. He's not the best choice, but It beats some of the other choices they've made.

That Interview was weird how does he know more about Fathom than Green Lantern?
There were some aspects of the interview that told me he gets Gl like the comparison between Iron Man and how he should be a man not a boy and all that but this part "but I think there is an internal war going on with him a lot like what I’m doing now on[“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”]. I think he’s a guy who has a lot of demons and he’s fighting them constantly. Having a past fighting and coming out of it, I think he’s one of those guys that with as much power as he has, he doesn’t necessarily always respect it. He’s always sort of riding the line of what should and shouldn’t be done. I enjoy that. I always enjoy the characters that aren’t just the straight-up heroes and aren’t just always on the straight and narrow". I'm not sure where he is getting all that especially if he hasn't read Birthright.
