To be honest I think Sam needs to step up and become the leader he is destined to be. I don't know if they ditched the idea but when Cable first came back there was records showing Cannonball surviving up into the 24th century. I know they
got rid of the immortal highlord story but Sam ended up getting shot 3 times in the chest and he made a miraculously recovery that Beast couldn't explain in later issues. He deserves the right to finally lead his own X-Men team instead of being a support member. They should bring Firestar to work at the JGSFHL as a guidance counselor and since they both showed interest in each other during the Firestar Mini 1-4. I can see them as a couple. I also have a pitch to possibly bring Cannonball back into the limelight for Marvel.

At least Paige is being used in WatXM I thought Sam would be too. That is a big step up for her. And I prefer his old costume.

I like the costume and I really hope that he can step up and be the leader, or at least co-leader with Rogue. It would be quite interesting to have Firestar back in the X-verse although I don't know if they should be together, but I don't really like Sam and Dani together either.

I was so excited when Cannonball was announced as part of the Legacy cast, only to have my hopes dashed as AvX went on. It hasn't been a team book since #267, and looks to be Rogue solo until it gets relaunched as Legion solo.

Not a bad design at all. With callbacks to his Age of X outfit that preceded it. Also coincidentally (?) like a redesign that made the rounds on Project Rooftop by Daniel Govar (at right) that has the edge over the Legacy look for small touches in detailing.

I'm a little behind on my reading, but I gotta say I really liked that Sam is the only person in Utopia that doesn't trust P5 Emma.

I was glad he got a shout within the series. Although why he was on Utopia was sort of odd since he is at the school.

As for his new uniform... I like it. Decent change, but I like the Bachelo one best, he needs something consist for now to help maintain visibility.
