Keep in mind that a Taurus is smaller and considerably more aerodynamic than an FJ Cruiser, and isn't a truck.

I just saw the Bauhaus Design museum the other day. That was fun, but I was disappointed that the museum wasn't bigger. I picked up one of those touristy DVDs and it is actually not bad. Hope you enjoy the Parrish show, Matt.

I think 19 is, sadly, not that bad for an auto of its class. Sorry to hear about your car getting jacked too, Matt. That really sucks- I hope your insurance was generous to you.

I'm getting ready to buy a new car soon myself, and so far I'm eyeing both the Dodge Challenger and the Audi A5. The A5 is attractive, but the price is enormous, and parts are hard to get sometimes. The Dodge looks awesome, but has its disadvantages too: it is a gas hog and the rear visibility sucks. I need a reliable car for longer trips and spending more money up front might be better in the longer run, so I am leaning toward the Audi. I plan to keep it at least 7 years, so maybe it is worth it. Any thoughts on what car I should get? I haven't done a serious search yet, and am open to some suggestion. I want a new or like new one less than 2 years old.

Well, Audi's probably more likely to still be around next year...

Up in Vermont/NH, somewhere around White River Junction is a Parrish museum. He used to do scenery for theater, an I got to see one of his set designs. Absolutely breathtaking.

Those of you who are not full time artists, what do you do for work (your pay-the-bills-job)?

I moderate message boards and lead a Scout troop. In my spare time I dabble in accounting and finance.

    Jonah pays you?
    I gotta write a memo!

Your company have layoffs this year? Its a tough time to be in any business, but I'd imagine all those Delaware and Maryland guys are downsizing.

Supposedly the global parent company will be having layoffs and selling off some businesses, but we're not expecting either to affect us. Hopefully. Of course I've been through all this before...

Its tough, I hope your place gets by okay.

I love the new wheels, by the way. I'm sorry the Jeep got stolen and trashed though.

So, recently I made the commitment to go to Illustration Academy this summer, which is a huge decision for me.

Its a seven-week studio immersion program, working with industry pros and design faculty from all over. I suspect my drawing will look a little different come August. I know what my main goals are with my own work, and I am sure to make some new goals along the way.

Anyone ever hear of this program, or do something similar?

Uh, any advice? I am very nervous.

    Watching Chuck last night...

I'm not amused... this is the second time I've seen a regular show break down into a three-minute commercial for a company.

Product placement is one thing, but this Subway ad was just damn shameful.

They did the same thing on Psych... which sucked as well.
I went and made a webcomic...

Well, it was only a Tracker anyway (not a Jeep) and I had it for six years and was intending to get a new car somewhat soon anyway. But, yeah, having it stolen and trashed severely affected the trade-in value. I'm loving the new car...but it's somewhat like driving a tank. Parking in the city, where I live and work, is proving much more difficult.

That's very cool. I'll look forward to contrasting your before and after work. Good luck!

Did they do it in a breaking-the-fourth-wall kind of way? Doesn't sound like it.

I used to love when Boston Legal would do that type of stuff.

it stretched the fourth wall to the point of breaking it... it might have cracked.
