Invincible Iron Man is a bit of an odd pick for Best New Series. At least, next to the other books in the category.

Hey, congratulations to our own Ian Boothby!

Overall, a pretty solid list of noms.

Wow, this list makes me happy about all the great stuff that is going on in comics.

Congrats to CBR for its nomination for Best Comics Related Journalism.

I found the most interesting category to be Best Lettering:

Faryl Dalrymple, Omega: The Unknown (Marvel)
    Jimmy Gownley, Amelia Rules! (Renaissance)
Scott Morse, Tiger! Tiger! Tiger! (Red Window)
Nate Powell, Swallow Me Whole (Top Shelf)
Chris Ware, Acme Novelty Library #19 (Acme)

All those nominated were artists lettering their own work. It illustrates the importance of using lettering as a function of the art.

Todd Klein isn't nominated for Best Lettering. That's a first, isn't it?

Kind of amusing that All-Star Superman is nominated for best continuing series now that it's concluded...

    Sadly Geoff Johns got nothing:(

and also, I was hoping Gary Frank would be at least nominated for best artist.

    Default No Djurdjevic?

Can't really argue with most of the noms with the exception of Marko Djurdjevic not getting a nom for Best Cover Artist

The last time he was not nominated was 1996. Not only that, he hasn't lost since then!
